    Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.

    Specialties of our active staff of doctors include Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Hematology, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Pathology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology and Women’s Health.

    For the convenience of our patients, we also host visiting physicians at our clinics in the areas of:

    About the role

     

    The volunteer Services Director engages adolescent and adult volunteers, integrating the volunteer program into Northern Montana health Care's multidisciplinary team. The role fosters civic-mindedness and educates volunteers about the unique aspects of the healthcare field through projects, events, and learning opportunities. The Director leads the Volunteer program across Northern Montana Healthcare, ensuring seamless coordination, meaningful impact, and continuous innovation. The role includes teaching and overseeing the new "Introduction to Volunteering" class, designed to prepare and inspire volunteers for their healthcare journey.

    Qualifications

    + Strong interpersonal skills to connect with people across all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

    + Understanding human behavior, motivation, and the ability to nurture the growth and capabilities of others.

    + Proficiency in bookkeeping.

    + Experience with word processing, desktop publishing, and digital collaboration tools.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to engage and relate to diverse individuals and civic organizations.

    + Passion for community-building and a proactive approach to organizing and managing programs.
