THE POSITION
Are you a seasoned criminal justice professional who has experience with juvenile probation? Utilize your skill set and join our team as a Juvenile Court Consultant within the Juvenile Court Judges' Commission (JCJC). We are excited to welcome a highly motivated Consultant to provide comprehensive technical assistance to juvenile court judges, chief juvenile probation officers, and others regarding juvenile justice issues throughout the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Juvenile Court Consultant, you will provide ongoing guidance and support to juvenile court judges and juvenile probation departments regarding programs, organizational procedures, and operations to ensure compliance with JCJC standards and JCJC endorsed best practices designed to improve juvenile court and juvenile probation services. You will provide technical assistance regarding the implementation of balanced and restorative justice principles and the Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Strategy, in addition to conducting comprehensive evaluations of juvenile probation departments and making recommendations for the improvement of services. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Five years of professional experience as a juvenile probation officer and a master's degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, or a closely related field ; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes five years of professional experience as a juvenile probation officer.
