Location (On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote?)
This role will be based on-site at our Auburn Hills, MI facility.
Shift
+ 2ND SHIFT: Approx. hours are 2:30pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday
+ Additional hours may be needed as necessary, which may include weekends, depending on business needs
What Will You Do?
• Manages a specific production area on a specific shift to meet delivery, quality, and cost objectives
• Develops and motivates manufacturing employees within a specific production area
• Provides meaningful and timely feedback on employee performance; completes and conducts annual performance appraisals for direct reports • Monitors employee compliance to the Attendance Guidelines; counsels employees who don’t comply
• Ensures employees are adequately prepared to perform the operations to which they have been assigned and training is documented per the quality system
• Takes appropriate action when performance expectations are not met
• Ensures employees have the tools and equipment required
• Ensures that employees are referencing only current, authorized documentation
• Utilizes MES to recognize and immediately correct repetitive quality and production problems
• Retrieves and compiles MES production data as needed
• Reviews other system reports to identify and correct production, quality, or operational problems
• Maintains a clean, organized and safe manufacturing area following 5s
• Drives employees to continuously improve key operational metrics and achieve organizational goals
• Helps to minimize scrap and monitors MRO expenses by indentifying opportunities and providing corrective action where needed
• Delivers complete and accurate Pass Down information to the next shift when applicable
• Ensures employees are paid for all time worked by reviewing, editing and approving timecards; when corrections are made in Kronos, completes the proper form(s)
• Strives to maintain compliance with EICC guidelines by monitoring employee’s overtime and taking action as necessary
• Coordinates with peers when staffing needs require support from employees that work in other areas
• Reviews time off requests and approves or denies based on staffing and business needs
• Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor (continued) AUH-069949 Rev A3 work practices along with all other work rules
How Will You Get Here?
Education
• High School Diploma or GED
Experience
• At least 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment over-seeing and/or supporting large production teams
• Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Reading, writing and math skills (12th grade level)
• Advanced PC skills
• Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem resolution skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with tight, rapidly changing deadlines
• Ability to work with customers and within a team-based environment
• Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
• Close vision to read documentation and extended use of computer monitor
• Safety glasses and steel toed shoes required while on the manufacturing floor
• Primary workstation is located on the manufacturing floor. The noise level is moderate.
