Job Details The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is responsible for directing clinical pharmacy services, programs, education and training of the pharmacy staff, in consultation with the Director of Pharmacy. Responsibilities: She/he will coordinate with medical staff and nursing on medication education and project initiatives The Clinical Pharmacy Manager will attend meetings consistent with his/her responsibilities at local and corporate level Adheres to St. Charles Hospital and department policies, procedures, and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times Assist pharmacy leadership with daily operational and quality responsibilities Investigate, trend, report and present Adverse Drug Reactions at P&T Committee Assist in regulatory survey preparation including policy & procedure revision Assist with protocol & order set creation, EMR medication validation and performance improvement data collection Assist with P&T and Medication Safety Management Committee preparation and follow-up Participate in Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary patient care rounds and serve as a pharmacy liaison with the ICU staff Supervise and precept pharmacy APPE students, along with Director of pharmacy oversee pharmacy student education program Provide orientation, training, education, competency development and assessment for pharmacy staff Develop and conduct medication use evaluations in conjunction with hospital performance improvement programs Handle hazardous substances safely according to policy and procedures Prepare and update pharmacy reference tools and IV pump drug libraries Collaborate with Infectious Disease physicians on institutional guidelines for antimicrobial therapy and stewardship Conduct antibiotic rounds with the Infectious Disease physicians Monitor patient culture results, drug levels, duration of therapy and renal function via the EMR Antimicrobial Stewardship Dashboard and Bugsy including reporting requirements Co-chair Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee including meeting agenda preparation and maintain IDSA certification for facility Support pharmacy operations and staffing requirements when deemed necessary Requirements: Education: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy, an MS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy required Successful completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency within the past seven years, preferred. Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) preferred Advanced certification in infectious disease or experience preferred Experience/Skills: Minimum 3 years health-system pharmacy experience, required Clinical expertise and a broad understanding of health care systems and processes to facilitate accurate interpretation of clinical events. Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of the medication-use system Knowledge of performance-improvement methodology and tools Knowledge in health-system processes for formulary review and approval Knowledge in design and compilation of drug use evaluations & monographs Outstanding oral and written communication skills Previous experience in assessing, evaluating, and presenting medication/drug use evaluations Basic and advanced computer skills; proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team. Salary Range USD $65.00 - USD $92.19 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
