Our Organization and Mission:
The Bureau of Education and Testing is housed within the Division of Professions. The Bureau protects the health, safety, and welfare of the public by providing services to numerous boards, divisions, and professions regulated by the Department. The Examination Development and Administration Units are responsible for developing, preparing, scheduling, scoring, and managing examination administrations. The Units also monitors national examinations and examinations contracted with private testing companies to ensure that all examinations meet appropriate measurement standards. The Continuing Education Unit monitors compliance with continuing education requirements, including pre-licensure and post-licensure education. Additionally, the Unit processes applications for education courses and providers and administers continuing education audits.
The Work You Will Do:
This position is responsible for assisting the administration of the continuing education program within the Continuing Education Services section for the Bureau of Education and Testing. The Bureau of Education and Testing is responsible for conducting licensure examinations to qualified candidates and the approval and monitoring of continuing education for professions regulated by the Department. The employee will respond to phone calls from providers and licensees, research continuing education discrepancies, prepare correspondence, and other duties as required.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
+ Monitor the email of continuing education deficiency notifications to licensees and process all continuing education completion certificates that are faxed or mailed to the department.
+ Manually update continuing education history upon receipt of proper continuing education completion certificates.
+ Evaluate materials provided by licensees to determine if course information submitted was an approved course.
+ Researches continuing education discrepancies reported by licensees, providers, or other entities.
+ Prepares correspondence with regards to discrepancies, continuing education matters, and other informational inquires.
+ Assist audit leader with the administration of continuing eduation audits.
+ Prepares correspondence to advise licensees of any deficiencies with their continuing education.
+ Answers inquiries from licensees with regards to the status of their continuing education requirements.
+ Responds to telephone calls and escalations.
+ Assists callers regarding specific continuing education requirements for their professions.
+ Performs other related duties as may be required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Ability to compile, organize and analyze data.
+ Ability to conduct fact-finding interviews.
+ Ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complaints.
+ Ability to understand and apply Florida Statues, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and facilities, and consumer protection.
+ Ability to provide consultative assistance to others.
+ Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
+ Ability to communicate effectively.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Minimum Requirements
+ Must have a high school diploma and two (2) years of work experience.
+ Must have one (1) year customer service experience.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred :
+ Two or more years using Microsoft office Suite.
+ Two or more years of customer service experience.
+ Experience preparing correspondence and/or email written at a professional level.
