    Job Details:

    The Infusion Aide performs a variety of duties under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator/Director of Surgical Services or Registered Nurse, to assist with daily operations of the Infusion Center. The Infusion Aide serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, hospital departments and the public to provide optimum level of care. The infusion aide assists the department with other duties as needed to ensure smooth department operations.

    Responsibilities:

    Assists patient's and patient's family to patient's room or Infusion Center. Assists in patient preparation for the infusion service procedure (dressing, comfort measures, etc.). Takes vital signs and glucometer testing as indicated by RN. Offers food/drinks during infusion therapy after consulting with RN. Prepares patient for discharge. Cleans and prepares room and stretcher for next patient. Restocks infusion rooms daily with routine supplies. Orders department supplies in Lawson system. Puts away delivered supplies, and keeps Infusion Manager or designee informed of discrepancies on deliveries. Checks infusion stock supplies routinely for outdates. Assists with moving patients as directed by the RN. Assists and educates volunteers on responsibilities. Accesses appropriate IT systems for the following information including obtaining H&P's in health notes, accessing lab results and printing results as needed and printing patient chart paperwork. Accesses the OR scheduling system to schedule pre-admission testing appointments for patients. Moves equipment within the Infusion Center as needed, and places equipment in the appropriate areas after cleaning is completed. Assists department as needed.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Prior patient care experience preferred. BLS certification. Ability to move heavy equipment as needed.

    Education:

    A high school diploma or equivalency required.
