    This position is located in Tallahassee, FL

    Position Overview and Responsibilities:

    This position performs complex administrative and consultative Human Resources duties and responsibilities for the Division of Recreation and Parks’ program areas.

     

    + Coordinate, assist and/or advise staff regarding the recruitment process and advertisement of vacant positions.

    + Provide guidance and assistance to supervisors/managers with employment packages and onboarding of new employees.

    + Assist with processing position description updates for DRP’s Bureaus and District Offices.

    + Assist with the development and maintenance of an electronic file system for position descriptions.

    + Coordinate with supervisors/managers to ensure all timesheets (OPS & FTE) are submitted/approved timely.

    + Coordinate with DEP HR and managers/supervisors to resolve all employee missing timesheets.

    + Assist with various Human Resource special projects.

    + Respond to employment inquiries, as requested.

    + Assist in maintaining a division employee roster.

    + Performs other related duties, as required.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Knowledge of Department of Management Services Personnel Rules.

    + Knowledge of hiring and recruiting practices.

    + Knowledge of People First.

    + Knowledge of computers and related software.

    + Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.

    + Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

    + Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

    + Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to administration and human resource program functions.

    + Ability to prepare reports.

    + Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

    + Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

    + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    + Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Valid Driver’s License

    Position of Special Trust Requirement:

    This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + At least six years of verifiable experience in Human Resources and/or administrative related experience. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from anapproved agency (https://www.fldoe.org/teaching/certification/foreign-trained-grads/approved-credential-evaluation-agencie.stml) must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.

    + Professional human resource management experience with an agency in the State of Florida’s State Personnel System.

    + Experience writing formal business communications, including emails.

    + Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suites.

    Pay:

    $55,000 to $60,000 Annually
