Summary You will serve as a FACILITY SERVICES ASSISTANT in the PRODUCTION DIVISION, FS BRANCH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Responsibilities You will maintain schedules for maintenance and repair of physical facilities. You will schedule short and long-range maintenance, repair, and minor construction. You will utilize advanced and varied functions of software suites to include computerized asset management systems, electronic mail, spreadsheets, electronic calendars, and database management. You will maintain subject matter files and records that relate to the work of the organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining schedules for maintenance and repair; 2) Entering and updating data in automated systems (e.g. Maximo or a similar information management system) to record important data for future reports; 3) Monitoring ticket work flow (e.g., emergency urgent, and routine trouble calls and project tickets) to identify changes and streamline processes; and 4) Dispatching work orders (short and long range facility maintenance, repair, and minor construction, etc.) equitably to keep workload balanced and prevent backups. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment involving everyday risks that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. The work is performed under the pressure of managing and dispatching a high volume of work with multi-tasking, rapid responses that require a close attention to detail.
