About this job
This Senior Analyst role on the Treasury Corporate Finance team manages the execution of CarMax’s financing transactions and supports development of financial strategy for the Company. The Corporate Finance team manages a total balance sheet of over $20 billion and the Senior Analyst is responsible for executing transactions to optimize sources of capital while weighing costs and various risks, with a specific focus on transactions to fund the Company’s $17+ billion CarMax Auto Finance unit. As part of transaction execution, the Senior Analyst will lead various aspects of complex funding transactions in the bank and capital markets including partner management, influencing at senior levels, and negotiation of favorable deal terms.
Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond Virginia Home Office and have a Hybrid work arrangement.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
+ Execute complex financial transactions, including coordinating efforts of internal departments, banks, rating agencies, legal counsel, accountants, and other transaction participants
+ Partner with other members of the Corporate Finance team that are involved in execution and administration of financing transactions.
+ Participate in negotiating favorable transaction terms with counterparties
+ Develop, maintain, and utilize financial models and reporting for various types of financial transactions including debt issuance, M&A, share repurchase, leases, and derivatives
+ Prepare and/or deliver presentation materials to wide-ranging audiences, including investors, rating agencies, senior executives, and the Board of Directors
+ Participate in shaping CarMax’s financial strategy, including optimal capital structure, through benchmarking, sensitivity analysis, and influencing throughout the organization

Qualifications and Requirements
+ Three or more years of experience in finance
+ Four-year college degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or similar required
+ Knowledge of finance with a general understanding of accounting and budgeting principles
+ Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
+ Experience with financial transactions and instruments such as asset-backed securitization, corporate debt and/or credit facilities is desirable, but not required
+ Experience with Bloomberg terminal desirable, but not required
