JOB OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Frontend UI within the Portfolio Implementation technology team that will aid in cultivating a technology vision for the modernization effort to support Portfolio Implementation. As we work towards the vision of the future, this role will be heavily responsible for understanding the existing technology and data surrounding the Portfolio Implementation function as a means for enhancing the design of the future.
To succeed in this role, the candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to apply technological skills to enable investment processes to become more efficient in the future. We are looking for a strong and enthusiastic hands-on lead software engineer to help contribute to this exciting, strategic initiative.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Design, develop and implement platform solutions with primary focus on user interface.
+ Build elegant, performant user interface for data intensive application that streamlines workflows and scale investment processes.
+ Hands-on development, prototyping, data modelling, code quality, static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution.
+ Lead design, prototype and code new user interface components and applications based on functional specifications.
+ Lead UX designs, development, delivery to production, ensuring outcomes from other UI developers
+ Comprehensive involvement in application lifecycle phases including DevOps process, release deployments and support.
+ Comprehensive involvement in improving SDLC efficiencies, seek & apply best practices to software development.
+ Work with business teams, project managers, and systems analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans.
+ Coordinate with analyst teams and other teams in firm to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing.
+ Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance.
+ Be highly collaborative, team-oriented, and strong consensus builder; demonstrate an ability to partner across groups, regions, and functions.
+ Develop a deep understanding of internal systems and related datasets to help with solution design.
+ Contribute to common software components/frameworks across the firm.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ 7+years of experience as a software developer supporting complex applications.
+ Fluent in modern JavaScript frameworks, ReactJS.
+ Strong understanding of user interface design patterns and data architecture principles.
+ Experience working with Rest APIS, WebSocket, and Server Sent events.
+ Experience with relational and document-oriented data models.
+ Demonstrated understanding of modern software development and test methodologies including experience on GIT and Jenkins CI.
+ Willingness to work both collaboratively and independently based on the task, in a fast-paced business critical environment.
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Experience in Financial Industry is preferred.
+ A record of continuous improvement and affecting positive change
+ Strong relationship skills and ability to build consensus.
