• Landfill Gas Technician Trainee

    Waste Connections (St. Cloud, FL)


    Waste Connections is looking for a **Gas Technician Trainee** to join our team at our **JED Landfill** located in St. Cloud, FL.

     

    **Pay Range:** $22-$30+/hr. DOE + $5000 stay on bonus paid out in increments over one year

    Responsibilities include:

    + Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill.

    + Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance.

    + Maintain relationships with landfill employees as well as consultants and vendors.

    + Using gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes.

    + Performing maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including the removal of pumps in wells, inspections, and repairs.

    + Monitoring the amount of liquid in gas wells.

    + HDPE pipe fusion.

    Position Requirements:

    + Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision.

    + Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill in a safe manner.

    + Work outdoors for most of the day.

    + Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic.

    + Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day.

    + Provide on-call response to gas collection system.

    + Experience operating hand and power tools.

    + Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs.

    + Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
