    Catalent Cell and Gene Therapy is looking to recruit **a Manager of Commercial Operations** to join our growing team in Maryland.

    Catalent, in Baltimore & Harmans, Maryland, provides industry-leading GMP development and manufacturing services for cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals such as recombinant viral vectors, next generation vaccines & hard-to-express recombinant proteins and oncolytic viruses.

     

    Our FDA-licensed, state-of-the-art CGMP manufacturing facility for Gene Therapies is located on the Harmans/BWI campus. The campus, featuring two manufacturing facilities is located 5 miles from the Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport and 13 miles from our Baltimore location (https://biologics.catalent.com/our-locations/north-america/baltimore-usa/) . The campus is close to Washington, DC’s I-270 Technology Corridor, top universities, and government agencies. The Harmans/BWI-1 EMA and FDA approved facility, at approximately 200,000 sq. ft., houses 10 CGMP manufacturing suites, fill/finish, central services, testing labs, and a warehouse. The Harmans/BWI-2 facility, at approximately 145,000 sq. ft., is under development and will house 8 CGMP manufacturing suites and cold storage warehousing.

     

    The **Manager, Commercial Operations** will assist with leading the transition of business-related activities for specified products from Business Development post-contractual commitment to allow for increased focus on new business acquisition. The Manager, Commercial Operations will act as a site representative of contact for business-related topics within the Drug Substance and Drug Product Portfolios. The **Manager, Commercial Operations** is critical to our patients as this individual will lead cross-functional teams that include partnering with External Manufacturing and Internal Operations, Quality and Supply Chain Teams together with subject matter experts to deliver Commercial Operations results in an efficient manner consistent with Client Expectations.

     

    The Manager, Commercial Operations will report to the Head of Commercial Operations. This position will not have direct reports.

     

    This is a full-time onsite position working Days; Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.

    The Role

    + Subject Matter Expert with respect to offering, capabilities and business processes within the segment

    + Partner with Program Management to support client relationships to ensure high level of client satisfaction

    + Provide guidance and feedback to the internal Operations, Quality and Supply Chain Teams regarding critical client matters

    + Partner with Marketing and BD to conduct market research and perform data analysis to understand client needs opportunities/trends

    + Analyze the portfolio for gaps, competitive position and customer needs that could be translated into new offerings

    + Provide guidance to BD leadership regarding targeting, account management planning and setting of yearly goals

    + Work with marketing and field commercial team to develop segment value proposition and plan/execute marketing plans and launches

    + Representative for the commercial team to site S&OP process providing guidance on overall pipeline/demand for specific products (in-coordination with BD leadership)

    + Assist with developing pricing strategies for target client segments and target offerings, implementation of Pricing Governance Structure and routine evaluation

    + Other responsibilities, as directed

    The Candidate

    + Bachelor’s degree in relevant science or engineering discipline strongly preferred. (Advanced degree preferred)

    + 8+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or medical device testing, manufacturing, quality, project management, business management, business development, commercial operations

    + Relevant industry knowledge of Biologics Fermentation, Cell Culture, Purification, Fill/Finish and Analytics preferred

    + Analytical, financial skills, business acumen

    + Experience communicating with clients and stakeholders required

    + Action oriented with advanced interpersonal skills

    + Professional communication and ability to concisely convey complex findings to leadership

    + Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

     

    The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $125,000 to $160,000 plus an annual bonus, when eligible. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
