    Description

    Weco is a value-added single-source contract manufacturer of machined components, finished fabricated sheet metal, and assembled metal products. Our three facilities encompass all aspects of metal product manufacturing including our own on-site finishing with powder, paint, and graphics capability. We serve the OEM Industrial, Healthcare/Medical Device, Aerospace/Defense, Renewable Energy, and Electronics by manufacturing both conventional and the most technically demanding items.     SUMMARY:Responsible for operating designated machine, reads and interprets shop orders to determine production methods, and sequence of operation.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    • De-Burrs parts before final inspection to print requirements.

    • Operate machines per set-operator or programming direction.

    • Complete shop orders as defined.

    • Communicate with operators from other shifts.

    • Maintain and secure work tools.

    • Clean and maintain work area.

    OWNER/MANAGER INTERACTION:

    Daily reviews current issues with owner and directly affected personnel.

     

    Indentifies machinery and equipment deficiencies and defects and forwards set-up operators

     

    Communicates with set-up operators with questions or issues.

     

    Verifies that all parts meet specification and reports deviations to Director of Ops or Quality.

    INDIVIDUAL DUTIES:

    + Operates all designated machine shop equipment and hand tools skillfully.

    + Works from prints or drawings to produce a variety of items.

    + Sets up machines and seek assistance from Plant Manager or Owner a required.

    + Produces items to print or drawings.

    + Follow facility safety requirements.

    + De-Burr Parts to print specifications.

    + Sweep daily, dispose of scrap properly, and maintain the workplace in a safe and orderly manner.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

     

    + LANGUAGE SKILL:Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    + MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:High school level mathematics.

    + REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

    + SKILLED IN DEBURRING:Polishing, finishing parts for any number of surface finishes or plating operations. Inspect for burrs/surface finish prior to finishing. Prepare parts for CNC operation or manual finish operations.

    + OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:None

    The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

    Salary Description

    $18.50 - $28.00 / hour
