Job Description

THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH AND 719 HOURS PER APPOINTMENT

This position is a direct representative of the State of Michigan to the traveling public. As a travel counselor, provide and distribute literature, information, and guidance on travel and vacation activities within the state. Assist in preparing literature displays in the center and assist in clerical work. The work schedule includes weekends and holidays.

This State Worker position is for summer help at the Clare Welcome Center in the literature section. This is not a permanent position, it does not offer benefits, and the rate of pay is non-negotiable. The hours will not exceed 129 hours per month or 719 hours per appointment. During the summer the Clare Welcome Center is open from 8:30am to 5pm, Sunday through Saturday. The working schedule typically 8 hours days (including a 30 minute lunch), but is subject to change to accommodate 10 hour shifts. Please select the hours and days that you are available to work.
