    Position: Starpoint Middle School Principal

    Job Description/Core Responsibilities:

    The Middle School Principal in the Starpoint Central School District is an instructional leader who maintains a positive and safe environment that promotes high standards of learning.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    + Fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment

    + Managing resources in accordance with the District's mission, vision, and core values

    + Promoting respect, collaboration, and a culture of high expectations for all students and staff

    + Supervising and evaluating middle school faculty and staff

    + Ensuring fair and consistent student discipline, i mplementing restorative practices when appropriate

    + Communicating effectively with all stakeholders

    + Responding to and resolving issues that arise in the school environment

    + Developing, implementing, and evaluating all instructional programs to ensure high standards of student achievement

    + Building and maintaining strong relationships with parents and community members

    + Developing and implementing initiatives to support diverse learners and close achievement gaps

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Strength in instructional leadership including best practices around student engagement, curriculum development, and intervention strategies

    + Demonstrated capacity to lead school-based initiatives for students and staff related to equity and diversity

    + Ability to identify areas in need of improvement and create positive change

    + Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills

    + Successful experience in education, including teaching and administration
