    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Customer Quality Manager is responsible for recommending and implementing operating practices related to customer satisfaction and retention. He/she is responsible for customer relationships and transactional opportunities related to the resolution of concerns. The role serves as the primary interface for various levels within the customer and AE environment to resolve matters related to Quality/Reliability of product, internal processes and procedures that impact customer satisfaction. The role manages the customer relationship as related to customer satisfaction, quality expectations, process controls, and delivery expectations. Responsibilities also include negotiations on business-critical matters by coordinating input with cross functional groups, and external customers and subsequently has the authority to make recommendations on matters of significant impact on company authority to deviate or proceed with actions related to overall customer and AE satisfaction.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Responsible for managing the relationship between customer’s Quality, Engineering and Production groups and AE’s Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Service, Quality and Operations functions to resolve product reliability and performance issues.

    + Responsible for working with cross-functional groups to coordinate strategies for meeting customers’ requirements in all quality areas that also serve AE’s business needs. Creates and reviews strategies with functional owners and drives program completions.

    + Coordinates with other departments’ failure analysis reports, data analysis, corrective action, root cause analysis, and quality performance reports.

    + Interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, and/or influencing and persuading other senior level managers .

    + Initiates 8D root cause analysis & corrective actions and insures timely closure of actions.

    + Presents field performance and customer specific data to corporate management and customer teams and customers.

    + Responsible for managing customer product tactical details around pareto, CAPA, voice of customer, customer scorecard and working cross-functionally to drive improvement for the customer’s product(s).

    + Can be asked to participate in Design Reviews or Safe Launch of Transfers or New Products to ensure compliance with reliability standards and customer requirements.

    + Review Engineering Change Requests for customer approval requirements and submission.

    + Is responsible for hosting and coordinating customer audits, surveys, and other such activities.

    + Escalates issues internally as necessary and negotiates across functions to ensure appropriate resources. Helps manage the escalation process internal to AE. With the account manager, communicates the status of the customer including discussion of controversial situations with senior level managers.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    + Standard office environment, noisy & busy manufacturing areas / labs, and clean-room environment.

    + AE is a highly dynamic, technically challenging, and fast-paced workplace.

    + May need to travel, up to 10-20% of the time (domestic and/or international).

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of internal and external customers.

    + Requires the use of independent judgement, responsible actions, and professionalism in all customer dealings.

    + Ability to construct cross-functional project teams and complete programs on schedule.

    + Ability to balance the requirements of performance, cost, and manufacturability.

    + Ability to solve complex technical and interpersonal problems.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Proven ability to successfully manage teams.

    + Strong computer skills, including experience with all Microsoft Office products and SAP / Oracle - Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP).

    EXPERIENCE:

    Essen** **tial:

    + Eight to ten years of experience in technical or quality management

    + Experienced working in a fast paced, manufacturing environment

    + Experienced in telecom, data center, industrial, and medical industries or collaborating with those customers

    + Experienced working with a global team

    Desirable:

    + Experienced with manufacturing quality or product quality management

    + Experienced working with field service teams

    + Knowledgeable of SPC, Variation Control, and MSA or GR&R techniques

    + Knowledgeable of 8D & Root Cause Analysis Methodologies

    + Ability to utilize quality / lean tools in analyzing, solving, and discussing problems, e.g., histograms, run charts, control charts, pareto charts, etc.

    + Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems and copy exactly requirements

    EDUCATION:

    Essen** **tial:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering / science

    Desirable:

    + Advanced Degree in Engineering / Science

    + MBA

    **COMPENSATION:** _As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act,_ _Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the hires in the state of Colorado_ **_only_** _, the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000 - $150,000._ _Information regarding additional benefits offered by Advanced Energy is provided below._
