Job Description Summary
The Executive Chief Information Officer of Avionics & Power will serve as the CIO for the Avionics & Electric Power P&Ls nested within the Defense & Systems business of GE Aerospace. This leader will have responsibility for the wing-to-wing Digital Technology strategy for the business. This role will serve as a key member of the Avionics & Power leadership team to ensure that the technology strategy is in line with the business growth plans and is a key enabler of efficiency and productivity.

+ Develop a progressive wing-to-wing technology strategy, covering infrastructure, custom software development, and enterprise transactional systems across Engineering, ITO, OTR, and Services business processes.
+ Define and execute a comprehensive DT strategy aligned with the business objectives of the Avionics & Electric Power P&Ls.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to P&L leadership, driving technology enablement for engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and aftermarket functions.
+ Lead and grow a 75+ person team with a strong focus on talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
+ Manage a $13M budget with rigor, delivering cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance and value realization.
+ Champion modernization and digital transformation initiatives such as ERP evolution, data analytics, IIoT, and AI/ML use cases across the product lifecycle.
+ Ensure robust compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, government regulations (e.g., CMMC, Cyber Essentials, NIST, ITAR), and customer requirements.
+ Oversee critical technology partnerships and sourcing strategy to drive performance, innovation, and efficiency. Championing the simplification of processes to securely transport data across domains.
+ Partner with the GE Aerospace unclassified defense business on a holistic digital technology strategy that encompasses the Avionics & Power portfolio.
+ Balancing and prioritizing reliability and mission assurance with/over the adoption of bleeding-edge trends.
+ Partnering with Operating Leaders in the business to define a business architecture that can be enabled with the deployment of new technologies.
+ Creating and sustaining a high-op-tempo environment with NPI program pressures.
+ Being a practitioner of Lean, and coaching the organization on Lean culture, tools, behaviors, and operating models.
+ Acting as a key leader of the GE Defense & Systems Digital Technology leadership team, advocating for the advancement of the DT function.
+ Balancing the financial & operational commitments of the Avionics & Power organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 12 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 15 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 17 years of professional experience.
+ Minimum 9 years of professional experience in Technical Product Management or IT.
+ Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a People Leader.
+ Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.
+ Due to the nature of our projects a US Citizenship is required.
+ Ability to secure and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
+ Experience with regulatory compliance requirements in the defense sector.
+ Experience successfully leading secure IT transformation initiatives, including ERP and MES implementations.
+ Proven leadership in recruiting, developing, and retaining top IT personnel.
+ Ability to drive a culture that thrives under high scrutiny and national security imperatives while still fostering innovation and trust.
+ Experience with Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) methodologies and practices.
+ Excellent communication skills – both written (decks, whitepapers) and verbal.
