JOB SUMMARY
The **Sr Compensation Analyst** plays a critical role in developing, implementing, and administering the organization's compensation policies, procedures, and programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Total Rewards & HRIS, this position supports the company's strategic objectives by ensuring compensation practices are fair, competitive, and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. The Sr Compensation Analyst is a motivated and analytical HR professional with a passion for total rewards and a deep understanding of compensation strategy, design, and execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
1.** **Compensation Analysis, Reporting, and Project Management
• Develop, implement, and maintain compensation policies, programs, and procedures that support business objectives and reflect market best practices.
• Conduct and participate in compensation surveys to benchmark pay practices; manage submission timelines, vendor costs, and identify new market data sources.
• Develop and maintain job codes, salary structures, and geographic differentials. Ensure proper documentation of job architecture frameworks across internal systems.
• Maintain and update wage ranges, salary matrices, field calculators, and associated materials to comply with federal and state minimum wage laws.
• Recommend and implement compensation decisions for base pay adjustments, promotions, FLSA classifications, job revisions, and structural changes.
• Ensure compliance with compensation-related regulations (e.g., FLSA, EEO, pay equity); monitor changes and recommend updates to policies and practices.
• Support the modeling, design, and analysis of incentive programs including annual bonus plans, commission structures, long-term incentive (LTI) plans, and equity programs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and other business units to provide compensation guidance aligned with workforce planning.
• Partner with the Total Rewards team to support an integrated rewards strategy, including wellbeing initiatives and talent programs.
• Prepare compensation reports, dashboards, and analytics to support leadership decision-making and annual planning cycles.
• Identify and recommend process improvements, technology solutions, and workflow optimizations to enhance compensation operations.
2.** **Client Group Support/Job Evaluations
***** Serve as an advisor and consultant to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders, providing strategic guidance on compensation-related matters in alignment with company philosophy and objectives.
• Conduct internal equity and market analysis to recommend competitive compensation, job grades, and FLSA status for new and existing positions.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HRBPs to evaluate internal and external offers, ensuring alignment with compensation guidelines.
• Review proposed salary adjustments to ensure alignment with established policies, internal equity, and compensation structures.
3.** **Cyclical Processes & Field Compensation Plan Documents
• Lead annual and cyclical compensation processes including merit increases, minimum wage updates, and bonus planning from planning through execution.
• Manage third-party vendor relationships for compensation platforms and tools; oversee milestone planning, system requirements, testing, and enhancements.
• Develop and present executive summaries and budget analyses to secure final approval on merit spend.
• Create accurate and timely data uploads for HRIS and payroll systems related to merit and bonus cycles.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned, gather stakeholder feedback, and recommend enhancements for future cycles.
• Contribute to the design, documentation, and administration of bonus plans, including drafting and updating compensation plans and related documents.
• Ensure compensation plans are accessible to HR teams and properly posted on internal platforms for ongoing reference.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Excel at administrating, designing, and developing compensation and total rewards programs to support strategic priorities.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FLSA, equal pay laws, pay transparency legislation)
• Experience with base pay, incentive plans, executive compensation, and equity programs (varies by industry/level)
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, modeling and logic-based formulas.)
• Data analysis and interpretation -- ability to identify trends and derive insights from large datasets
• Experience with compensation tools and platforms (e.g., MarketPay, Radford, Mercer, etc.)
• Knowledge of HRIS and data/reporting systems (e.g. ADP)
• Survey participation and market pricing methodologies
• Job evaluation techniques (e.g., point-factor, slotting, leveling frameworks)
• Ability to communicate complex compensation information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal and consulting skills -- work effectively with HR, Finance, and business leaders
• Experience delivering presentations and training on compensation topics
• Skilled at influencing and advising managers and executives on pay decisions
• Strong project management skills -- ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Problem-solving mindset -- identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement practical solutions
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with excellent time management and organization skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of employees with a positive attitude of customer service.
• Ability to be flexible in changing work priorities.
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification is highly desirable
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
• 5-7+ years of progressive compensation experience; ideally with at least 1--2 years in a senior or lead role
• Multi-unit experience supporting Human Resources and other business partners in different geographic locations
• Experience working in both corporate and field operations environment
• Experience with the design and implementation of sales commission or incentive plans
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions
• Work is performed in a business office environment.
Travel Requirement
• Infrequent travel by air or car may be required (10%).

Compensation Summary
**All Employees:** Free Club Membership, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Basic Group Live and AD&D Insurance ($10,000), and 401k Savings and Investment Plan.
**Average of 30 hours or more per week:** Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above).
**Washington State** : Receive 40 hours of sick time on your first day of employment. After 6 months of employment, accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours, inclusive of time carried over.
Actual offer may vary from posted hiring range based on location, work experience, and/or education.
Salary range will vary based on geography of the applicant.
Pay Range for Los Angeles, Orange County and Seattle: $93,495.00-$126,213.00 (Exempt), $44.95-$60.68 (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range for Bay Area (California) & New York City (incl. New Jersey): $97,560.00-$131,700.00 (Exempt), $46.90-$63.32 (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range for San Diego & Carlsbad (California) and all other locations: $87,804.00-$118,530.00 (Exempt), $42.21-$56.99 (Non-Exempt)
