Job Description Summary
The Executive Chief Technology Officer of Defense & Systems (D&S) will serve as the technology leader for the D&S division of GE Aerospace, comprised of the Defense Engines & Services, Edison Works, Avionics, & Electric Power P&Ls. This leader will have responsibility for the wing-to-wing information technology strategy for the business. This role will serve as a key member of the Defense & Systems Digital Technology leadership team to ensure that the technology strategy is in line with the business growth plans and is a key enabler of efficiency and productivity.

+ Develop the long-term technology roadmap for the Defense & Systems division in alignment with business objectives and in support of rapid growth across classified and unclassified programs spanning all four P&Ls.
+ Serve as the primary technical interface with key government stakeholders, primes, and program offices to understand emerging needs and shape future capabilities.
+ Partner with GE teams across Security, Internal Audit, Information Assurance, Programs and Government Relations teams to ensure a technology strategy that both meets the requirements of the customer and allows for efficient operation of the Defense & Systems business.
+ Lead the strategic planning and execution of modernization initiatives for unclassified and classified IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with government regulations and enhancing operational efficiency.
+ Design and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports both classified and unclassified programs, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable data management across the organization including cross-domain data transfer systems.
+ Accountable for compliance of IT systems and processes in accordance with relevant defense sector regulations such as ITAR, DFARS, NIST 800-171, CMMC, JSIG, and NISPOM.
+ Champion the use of advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technologies to enhance decision-making and operational capabilities across programs.
+ Lead technology modernization strategy for unclassified, special access, restricted programs, ensuring alignment with customer objectives compliance requirements.
+ Inspire and mentor the next generation of technical talent, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity, and accountability.
+ Recruiting, developing and retaining defense IT and cyber personnel to create a world-class digital technology team.
+ Lead research, advanced development, and technology maturation efforts across a diverse portfolio of programs across Defense Engines & Services, Edison Works, Avionics, and Electric Power.
+ Balance and prioritize reliability and mission assurance with/over the adoption of bleeding-edge trends.
+ Partner with Operating Leaders in the business to define a business architecture that can be enabled with the deployment of new technologies.
+ Create and sustaining a high-op-tempo environment with NPI program pressures.
+ Serve as a model practitioner of Lean, including coaching the organization on Lean culture, tools, behaviors, and operating models.
+ Act as a key leader of the Defense & Systems Digital Technology leadership team, advocating for the advancement of the Digital Technology function.
+ Balance the financial & operational commitments of the Defense & Systems organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 12 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 15 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 17 years of professional experience.
+ Minimum 9 years of professional experience in Technical Product Management or IT.
+ Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a People Leader.
+ Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.
+ Due to the nature of our projects a US Citizenship is required.
+ Ability to secure and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
+ Deep expertise with regulatory compliance requirements in the defense sector including ITAR, DFARS, NIST 800-171, CMMC, JSIG, and NISPOM.
+ Experience engaging with government agencies in Washington to align technology strategies with mission objectives.
+ Strong understanding of defense contracting processes and requirements.
+ Proven ability to implement and oversee advanced cybersecurity measures for classified and unclassified environments.
+ Experience successfully leading secure IT transformation initiatives, including infrastructure, data platform, manufacturing technology, and digital thread (MBE) modernization programs.
+ Proficiency in leveraging AI, machine learning, and data analytics for defense applications.
+ Proven leadership in recruiting, developing, and retaining top IT personnel.
+ Ability to drive a culture that thrives under high scrutiny and national security imperatives while still fostering innovation and trust.
+ Excellent communication skills – both written (decks, whitepapers) and verbal.
Additional Information:
The base pay range for this position is $275,000 to $325,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on June 21st , 2025.
