General Purpose
The position will be responsible to provide routine performance reporting in addition to developing and providing ad hoc financial research to assist in managerial decision making. The position will need to control their respective assignments to assure GAAP, FERC, and company policy compliance. The position will assist in corrections to system entries or procedures as needed.
Position will be filled at the level that commensurate with the successful candidate’s applicable skills and experience.
Responsibilities
Senior Financial Accounting Analyst level include:
+ Summarize monthly financial transactions covering Engineering and Grid Modernization departments to include operating expense, federal/state grants, and regulatory deferrals.
+ Analyze and reconcile general ledger data including preparing journal entries, accruals, and forecasts.
+ Assist in contract documentation and implementation of contract provisions to ensure alignment with operation activities.
+ Assist in response to data requests from auditors, regulation, and other ad hoc assignments.
+ Develop operational knowledge over control center activities and utilize to provide financial internal consulting on management decisions.
In addition, responsibilities of the Financial Accounting Specialist level include:
+ Plan and direct company-wide operational/financial performance studies.
+ Direct system processing and reporting efforts of others as they relate to capital project and operating expense recognition.
+ Plan and direct company-wide activities related to the collection and allocation of construction overheads and other cost allocation systems.
+ Analyze, prepare, and interpret monthly reports for FERC/regulatory reporting and monthly Financial & Operating results.
+ Develop, implement, and manage procedures and controls that confirm compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and corporate governance compliance.
Requirements
Senior Financial Accounting Analyst:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ A minimum of five years’ experience in accounting or a related field with strong data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, and modeling.
+ A strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Experience in financial analysis.
+ Communication and people skills including ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
+ Proficient with the use of personal computers to gather, analyze, and summarize data especially excel and prior experience with financial accounting systems.
+ Knowledge of research, analysis, and consulting techniques, procedures, practices, and applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
In addition, the Financial Accounting Specialist level include:
+ Experience in financial statement analysis.
+ Program design skills including development of interventions, processes, or new or modified programs to meet customer needs.
+ Effective communication and people skills including the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.
+ Ability to work with all organizational levels, and to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.
+ Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.

Hiring Range: $78,500 - $116,800
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
