    Overview

     

    Stryten Energy, manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

     

    The Production Control Manager is esponsible for the production planning, purchasing, shipping, receiving and scrap recycle processes necessary to meet business goals and to support continuous improvements throughout facility processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, scheduling and distributing materials and supplies.

    + Supervise the location and viability of material and supply vendors based on their ability to supply availability and terms of sales.

    + Regulate the adherence to and the development and implementation of purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.

    + Represent the company in support of contract negotiations and formulating policies with suppliers.

    + Supervise the scheduling functions using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to calculate the materials required to supply the plant.

    + Develop production capacity models to ensure service support rates and inventory targets are met.

    + Requisition and maintain inventories of materials, parts or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

    + Maintain records of goods ordered and received.

    + Develop and maintain a cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy to established accuracy rates.

    + Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.

    + Participate in the development of specifications for products and the materials that go into their manufacture.

    + Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.

    + Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.

    + Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

    + Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.

    + Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, and customers to coordinate production and shipping activities to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.

    + Regular attendance is required in order to give sufficient support to the plant-wide team.

    + While performing the duties of this job the individual is occasionally required to vary their work schedule.

    + Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience, Certifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred and five years of purchasing and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.

    + Ten years of experience in the purchasing and scheduling field working with vendors, customers, management, marketing, sales, production, and engineering towards continuous improvement efforts and projects at the site level.

    + Proven leadership experience with significant and verifiable results.

    + Must have experience with industrial hygiene practices and related equipment, as well as be able to assist with maintenance of the equipment.

    + Experience with developing and deploying safety programs at a plant level.

    + Heavy industrial experience an added advantage.

    Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

    + Ability to work in a team environment.

    + Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.

    + Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.

    + Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.

    + Effective coaching and mentoring skills.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills to give and share information to/with co-workers, customers and production management in order to achieve optimum plant performance.

    + Active listening: giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

    + Critical thinking: using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

    Physical Demands:

    + While performing the duties of this job, individual is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

    + Individual is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    + Ability to occasionally lift a minimum 25lbs and 26 to 150lbs with assistance of equipment

    + Regular use of safety glasses and steel-toed shoes. Limited use of respirator. Vision requirements: close vision.

    Work Environment:

    + This position requires you to be on site at our Columbus, IN location.

    + While performing the duties of this job, individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles

    + Individual occasionally exposed to precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock

    + Noise level is minimal to loud

    + Regular work in a lead contaminated area and must wear a uniform and safety shoes in that area to prevent the tracking and / or possible lead contamination of other clean areas or outside or the regulated areas

    + Occasional travel may be necessary to fulfill business needs and support various projects and initiatives.
