Position Overview
International is currently seeking Product Planner-Marketing to take our business to the next level! This position is based out of our World Headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, outside of Chicago.
The trucking industry is going through a dynamic phase driven by rapid advancements in areas such as automation, connectivity, user experience, and the increasing demand for electrification. These trends are driving the need for more advanced vehicle technology and digital solutions. This role strengthens our capability to translate strategic intent into executable roadmaps, ensuring we stay competitive in the electrified, connected, and software-enabled truck ecosystem.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Product Planning, this position supports long-term portfolio development, cross-functional opportunity evaluation, and roadmap alignment across advanced technology domains.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Management:
+ Support roadmap planning across all vehicle technologies.
+ Ensure alignment with strategic imperatives such as profitability targets, sustainability goals, and TRATON roadmap integration.
Opportunity Evaluation & Prioritization:
+ Support the product opportunities database, incorporating cross-functional input (Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, etc.).
+ Use defined intake criteria (need, fit, solution, business case) to screen and prioritize initiative
Strategic Planning & Governance Support:
+ Prepare materials and inputs for gated forums ensuring clarity and data-driven recommendations.
+ Collaborate with brand product planning and functional teams to consolidate inputs and scenario plans.
Budget & Initiative Planning:
+ Assist with pre-development budgeting and financial framing for early-stage initiatives.
+ Track initiative throughput and support decision-making through International’s Product Strategy governance.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least 5 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience
OR
+ Master’s degree
+ at least 3 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience
OR
+ At least 7 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree a plus.
+ Strategic thinker with proven ability to work across planning horizons (3–10 years).
+ Familiarity with truck technology systems (E/E, propulsion, autonomy, software integration).
+ Demonstrated capability in cross-functional collaboration within a matrixed and international environment.
+ Effective communicator, adept at tailoring content for executive and operational audiences.
