    Data Scientist Responsibilities:

    1. Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how Meta users interact with our consumer and business products.

    2. Mine massive amounts of data and perform large-scale data analysis to extract useful business insights.

    3. Develop data pipelines with automated, machine-learning systems that convert noisy core datasets into powerful signals of user behavior.

    4. Building models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems.

    5. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.

    6. Design and implement dashboards and reports that track key business metrics and provide actionable insights.

    7. Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups.

    8. Work across areas of product operations, exploratory analysis, product leadership, and data infrastructure to help shape the future of what we build at Meta.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    9. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

    10. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:

    11. 1. Performing quantitative analysis including data mining on highly complex data sets

    12. 2. Data querying language(s) including SQL

    13. 3. Scripting language(s) including Python

    14. 4. Statistical or mathematical software including R, SAS, or Matlab

    15. 5. Applied statistics or experimentation using A/B testing, in an industry setting

    16. 6. Machine learning techniques

    17. 7. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes

    18. 8. Relational databases

    19. 9. Large-scale data processing infrastructures using distributed systems

    20. 10. Quantitative analysis techniques, including clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics

    Public Compensation:

    $185,206/year to $196,900/year + bonus + equity + benefits
