Overview
The Catering Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing catering services for events of all sizes. This role works closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless service and an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with catering inquiries and bookings in absence of Receptionist
+ Fill in at Receptionist desk as needed
+ Effectively coordinate tasks with internal and external teams.
+ Coordinate with clients to understand event requirements, menu preferences, and timelines
+ Collaborate with kitchen, service, and logistics teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery
+ Lead assigned catering staff as needed for on-site events
+ Maintain accurate records of orders, billing, and inventory
+ Work with Site Manager to ensure all staff complete required safe food handling courses
+ Manage event setup and breakdown when necessary, ensuring high-quality presentation
+ Address client feedback and resolve issues professionally and promptly
+ Support marketing efforts for catering services (e.g., tastings)
Qualifications
+ Highschool Diploma required
+ 3+ years of experience in catering skills
+ 3+ years of leadership experience with proven ability to lead and train team members
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ ServSafe Food Handler and ServSafe Allergen Certification, preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of catering and event planning and execution
+ Strong knowledge of safe food handling practices
+ Proper use, handling, and maintenance of equipment
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
+ Proficient in event management software (e.g., Tripleseat, EazyCater)
+ Technically savvy
+ Proven experience in catering, hospitality, or event planning
+ Keen attention to detail and commitment to excellence
+ Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
+ Strong organizational and time-management abilities
+ Ability to multitask and work under pressure
+ Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
+ Energetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented
+ Innovative and forward thinking, creative problem-solver
