    The Opportunity

     

    We are looking for our next **Manager, Clinical Data** to lead our team on-site out of our Maple Grove, MN location. In this pivotal role at Abbott in Medical Devices, you’ll not only manage the full spectrum of clinical data activities—from CRF design to database integrity—but also lead a talented team of data professionals and collaborate with a broader group of experienced managers driving excellence across clinical operations. This new team member has primary management responsibility directly or through subordinates for all data related to clinical studies, Case Report Form (CRF) design, edit check specifications, and other requirements of the Clinical databases, providing datasets and performing data cleaning for analysis. In addition to traditional Data Management responsibilities, responsible for managing the development, documentation, and execution of risk-based quality management systems, as described in the risk assessment, data management plan, and site and central monitoring plans. This individual will need to be able to exercises judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitor performance and ensure compliance to standards and applicable work instructions.

    What You’ll Work On

    + Oversee the end-to-end management of clinical data activities, including CRF design, edit check specifications.

    + Ensure the delivery of clean, analysis-ready datasets through rigorous data review and cleaning processes.

    + Lead and mentor a team of data specialists, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    + Manage the development, documentation, and execution of risk-based quality management systems, including risk assessments, data management plans, and central/site monitoring strategies.

    + Exercise sound judgment in planning, organizing, and executing work to meet timelines and regulatory standards.

    + Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to internal SOPs, industry regulations, and best practices.

    + Collaborate with clinical operations, biostatistics, and other stakeholders to ensure data supports high-quality decision-making and regulatory submissions.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in science related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

    + Minimum 8 years’ progressively more responsible experience in the pharmaceutical, bio-technology or medical device industry; must be able to apply the fundamental concepts and practices to conduct needs assessment, research and develop information for market development purposes.

    + Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.

    + Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.

    + Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

    + Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

    + Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.

    Preferred** **Qualifications

    + Proven experience in clinical data management and team leadership.

    + Strong understanding of risk-based monitoring and quality management systems.

    + Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    + Demonstrated leadership skills with respect to achievement of company goals and objectives.

    + Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

    The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
