The **Boeing Platforms** engineering department is seeking a talented systems/software engineering manager to join our team in Bothell, WA, to be a technical leader to help us create displays and system solutions that are of high quality, reliable and safe. As a **senior engineering manager** in the Boeing Platforms organization, you will be responsible for leading a talented group of systems and software engineers to develop **flight display systems** used on air transport category airplanes. Projects include flight deck display systems used on the 737 MAX, 757, 767, 777x and 787 aircraft as well as other commercial Boeing platforms. This position will involve interaction with our customer including existing programs in development along with pursuing new business opportunities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
+ Performance management of a team of 10 - 15 systems and software engineers including: establishing trust with each team member through regular one-on-ones; performance evaluation and feedback; understanding team members’ strengths and weaknesses; balancing project needs with growth of team members; clearing roadblocks that may arise and communicating effectively through leadership channels.
+ Identify, recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent across the spectrum of entry-level to very experienced engineers.
+ Demonstrate a passion for coaching and mentoring.
+ Provide technical leadership and accountability for team and assigned project’s performance, over the entire project life cycle including bids, project management, design, requirements capture, architecture, analysis, integration, verification, and certification.
+ Actively support engineering resource management.
+ Build and leverage networks within the department and throughout Collins Aerospace.
+ Collaborate with cross-discipline engineering teams and Integrated Product Teams including Value Stream Leadership, and Department and Executive Leadership.
+ Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience _or_ an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience _or_ in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
+ 8+ years of experience in a project engineering/project lead role, with cost and schedule responsibility and Earned Value Management experience.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
+ Well-versed in Systems and/or Software engineering skills, critical and innovative thinking, strategic planning, and an ability to build and motivate a team
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.
+ Ability to identify complex problems using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve complex issues and mitigate risks.
+ Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing priorities and schedules to meet challenging timelines.
+ Collaboration expertise tofacilitate effective communication with a team of engineers to make sound engineering decisions.
+ Must have the ability to communicate technical issues, risks, and status with multiple levels of leadership
+ A positive attitude, is adaptable to change, enjoys learning new technologies, and contributes to a positive work environment.

**Onsite:** Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
