    SUMMARY

    Manages all aspects of the compliance of all Finance & Insurance (F&I) products sold under the Subaru name at retailers including Subaru Added Security, Certified Pre-Owned (CPO), Maintenance, Subaru Equity Shield GAP, Subaru's private label gap product (GAP), Subaru Equity Shield Optimum Vehicle Protection (OVP), and Subaru's private label ancillary products (Tire & Wheel [T&W], Dent & Dint, and Windshield). This entails designing changes in coverage and pricing; the management and design of incentive programs; implementing and receiving state approval on wording, rates, and terms; and maintaining responsibility for the operations of subsidiaries which are required for these products (Subaru Insurance Agency [SIAI], Subaru of America Services, Inc. (SASI), and Subaru Extended Services Company LLC [SESC 634]).

     

    Leads design, marketing, and strategy for the growth of Subaru Equity Shield GAP and OVP and evaluates and designs all new F&I products to be developed and sold by Subaru retailers.

     

    Manages the Retailer Reinsurance program including contract negotiation with retailers, monitoring monthly results, and payment and supervision of all Pleaides (captive insurance) operations that relate to the Reinsurance program

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Manages compliance with current state insurance laws relating to Added Security.

    + Assesses all changes in state law and secures licenses and approval on all new forms, rates, and changes to existing forms. Works with the Sales department in drafting acceptable wording for all forms and brochures.

    + Prepares state filings.

    + Purchases bonds and letters of credit where required.

    + Assists the fronted insurance company with state audits and compliance issues. • Establishes and maintains a relationship with state insurance departments.

    + Maintains responsibility for the strategy, design, marketing and growth of Subaru Equity Shield (SES) to Subaru retailers and customers.

    + Designs communication on Subarunet as well as videos, brochures, and flyers distributed to retailers.

    + Designs and implements incentive programs for retailers to improve sales.

    + Develops annual budget for SES incentives • Serves as key interface between Subaru of America (SOA) and Allstate and SafeGuard for resolution of customer and retailer concerns, program issues, and coverage changes.

    + Reports sales results, assesses underwriting results, and makes recommendations to Allstate, SafeGuard, and Regional Product Managers at SOA and retailer Finance & Insurance (F&I) Income Specialists to assist in increasing penetration of SES at Subaru retailer level and to increase profitability of SES. This may include recommendations regarding coverage or claim handling.

    + Manages the development and implementation of all new F&I products sold by our retailers including non-Subaru Added Security service contracts with SafeGuard for Subaru retailers to sell on non-Subaru vehicles.

    + Manages insurance subsidiaries Subaru Insurance Agency (SIAI), Subaru of America Services, Inc. (SASI), and Subaru Extended Services Company LLC (SESC 634), including managing the state license renewals where required for SASI and working with outside counsel to keep apprised of state law changes that may affect SASI and SESC.

    + Manages Subaru Added Security (SAS) Retailer Reinsurance program.

    + Negotiates contracts, determines license requirements, monitors completion of paperwork by field staff, and oversees retailers’ reinsurance companies’ results, investment options, terminations, and operational changes.

    + Oversees and coordinates with Sales and Accounting on outstanding issues.

    + Monitors retailers’ penetration levels and advises of suggested changes in administration of tax fees if necessary.

    + Manages implementation of Information Technology (IT) projects related to Added Security, Equity Shield, and Retailer Reinsurance to enhance the retailers’ experiences, add cost savings, and increase the stewardship of Subaru as being environmentally friendly. Works closely with IT department at SOA to define and complete IT projects.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Serves as main subject matter expert for IT and Sales relating to SES products.

    + Represents SES products at Subaru meetings (such as National Business Conference [NBC] and National Training Conference [NTC]) and develops classes and presentations to support the understanding and sales of these products.

    + Participates in ad hoc projects which have risk management implications involving Sales, Finance - Accounting, and IT.

    + Oversees management, development, and strategy of partnerships and projects including Liberty Affinity Program and UBI.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor's Degree: preferability in business management, risk management, law, or related business area) required

    + Master's Degree Master of Legal Studies (MLS) or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

    + Strong technical knowledge of Finance & Insurance (F&I) contracts and coverage.

    + Knowledge of retailer F&I sales operations Preferred

    + Ability to attend retailer training regarding F&I products and complete Subaru Foundations courses regarding F&I products.

    + Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines.

    + Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects.

    + Strategic thinking ability with capability to see the big picture and understand risks and opportunities.

    + Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise good judgment, solve programs, think critically, multi-task, and prioritize work in a changeable environment.

    + Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and management skills.

    + Ability to analyze and interpret contracts, legal documents and insurance policies.

    + Advanced computer and data analysis skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products with advanced skills in Excel.

    + Experience with Captive Insurance is preferred, if not, the incumbent would need to pursue a certification.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 4-Year College Degree (BA, BS) and 10-12 years' experience

     

    + Upon Start- Company will support your pursuit to become certified in the following: following: Non Clinical\ARM - Certification In Risk Management, Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) from the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE)

    WORK ENVIORNMENT

    + Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding)

    + Required Travel: 10%

     

    COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $114800 - $145000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. (Internal Job Grade: M2)
