JOB SUMMARY
The Benefits team is responsible for the overall strategy, design, and management of benefits and resources to attract, retain, and develop top talent. The Senior Benefits Analyst is a key member of the Benefits Delivery team, playing leading and partnering roles to support the operations and administration of Marriott’s benefits plans and programs. This includes maintaining ongoing plan operations to ensure high levels of performance, associate engagement, experience and satisfaction, as well as ensuring the plans are administered in accordance with policies and procedures as established by Marriott. It also includes ensuring that benefits data are accurate, and reporting, systems and interfaces operate efficiently. The Senior Benefits Analyst will provide ongoing operational support for benefit programs, with a primary focus on the organization’s health and welfare benefits. The Senior Benefits Analyst will liaison with staff internally and externally, including Marriott’s third-party administration vendors, and internal departments, such as Information Technology, Payroll Services and the Legal Department.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 4+ years in a benefits or related role
• Experience working with an Enterprise HCMS and an outsourced benefits administrative partner
• High level proficiency with Excel, including ability to work with formulas and pivot tables
• Strong analytical abilities, critical thinking skills and attention to detail demonstrated through prior work experience
Preferred
• Project management experience
• Specific experience with Oracle HCM, Alight TBA, and/or WTW’s benefits administration solution
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Responsible for benefit plan administration and operations activities for a variety of benefits, including:
• Analysis of benefit enrollments, contributions, utilization and other key metrics
• Manipulation of large datasets and multiple data sources to analyze data for accuracy, reconciling for discrepancies, and using gap analysis to drive ongoing processes and enhancements
• Generation and distribution of ad-hoc data reports; analyze and merge data files and summarize findings
• Analysis of participant and plan data, leverage understanding of connectivity and data flow between the Benefits platform technology, Payroll and HRIS, to ensure integrity
• Management, research and tracking of escalated issues and partnership with benefits administration vendor and/or internal departments to ensure resolution
• Resolution of administrative and systems issues that cannot be resolved by the plans’ administrator
• Support for annual enrollment and implementation of other benefit program changes to support business and compliance needs
• Assistance with benefits audits and accounting activities
• Evaluation of administrative procedures and systems to identify opportunities, enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Implementation of benefit program changes to support business and compliance needs including support for annual enrollment
• Assist with user acceptance testing for new and enhanced systems functionality
• Providing guidance to benefits providers and service center for ongoing plan operations
• Support for communications and change efforts with internal and external partners
• Partnership with internal teams, including finance, legal, and payroll on process and policy oversight to ensure compliance, accurate reporting of benefits and support for ongoing benefits operations
The salary range for this position is $70,600 to $111,400 annually.
