As a Technical Program Manager in product development organization in US, you will work closely with internal and external cross-functional teams to drive key aspects of Product Engineering (PE). You will collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver best engineering evaluation per the agreed requirements in product preconcept phase. You will be responsible for coordination and planning of all product engineering related escalations and drive deliverables to ensure timely delivery of products.

Key job responsibilities

You will contribute to the Product Development Process (PDP) and other mechanisms required to ensure predictable execution during the development cycle as well as escalation mechanisms to seek timely involvement of executive management and cross functional leaders. You will define, drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the NPI mechanical programs including preconcept phase. You will work with GCM (Global Sourcing Manager) to select the right supplier for projects. In addition, you will create mechanisms to guide teams and share best practices across Technical Program Managers and other critical roles on the cross-functional team.

A day in the life

• Work with key stakeholders in product design and management teams to define strategy and requirements

• Assist cross functional development and execution on new technologies from product definition, design through delivery

• Work with core team (product management, hardware, software, operations, quality, etc) on critical issue root-cause analysis, solution identification and implementation within launch timelines

• Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- 8+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience

- Certified PMP

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
