ABOUT THIS POSITION
Right now, we are looking for an outstanding, brilliant, and driven Sr. Application Architect to join our growing team. While our Sr. Application Architects are involved in multiple things throughout the Technology organization, primarily they are responsible for building highly-scalable software frameworks, establishing high-quality coding and SDLC practices, and providing instruction to Technology team members on the proper usage of new technologies.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
+ Designs highly-scalable software solutions and frameworks that are easily consumable by other Application Engineers
+ Establishes Application Engineering standards through collaboration with team members, and works to ensure their adoption by the Waystar Application Engineering teams
+ Stays on the forefront of new developments in technology, and works to adopt them for use at Waystar
+ Promotes a culture of continuously-improving technical solutions and SDLC practices
+ Identifies opportunities for refactoring, optimizing, and otherwise improving legacy codebases; works with Application Engineering teams to adopt these changes
+ Capable of teaching complex technical concepts to large groups of Application Engineers
+ Unit tests all changes on development, and then works with the appropriate Business and/or Technology Owner(s) to ensure that the developed solution meets the business requirements
+ Communicates the development progress daily to the senior-level team members
+ Attends to any work items assigned through the internal case system in a timely fashion
+ Takes ownership of work items assigned, communicates estimates and daily progress as part of the SDLC process, and actively works to resolve issues blocking progress
+ Assists in the QA process
+ Participates, as required, in Production Code Turn days, providing instructions for deploying the code changes successfully, and for Smoke Testing code post-release
+ Develops and maintains open and fluid communication with Management
+ Develops and maintains a positive relationship with other team members
+ Capable of planning and initiating small-scale technical projects
+ Mentors fellow team members in their development as Application Engineers, helping them build correct technical solutions
+ Additional duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
+ 14+ years of .NET and SQL Server experience
+ 4+ years’ experience as a Technical Lead/Lead Engineer
+ Unit Testing experience
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome change
+ Highly self-motivated
+ Ability to work both in team and solo environments
+ Experience building highly-scalable software solutions
+ Subject Matter Expertise in two or more technical tracks
+ Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Preferred Skills:
+ N-Tier and SaaS development experience is preferred
