Description
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Shopbop, you'll design and implement innovative systems that transform our photo studios into efficient, scalable content production hubs. Your technical solutions will strengthen Shopbop's position as a leading fashion inspiration destination. In this role, you'll develop scripts, in-tool automations, and customize 3P software to create systems that power our business-critical workflows. Your expertise will drive system optimization, accelerate product launches, and maintain Shopbop's competitive advantage. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across Shopbop, Amazon, and subsidiaries to design and implement solutions through systems integration, technical innovation, and strategic partnerships with industry-standard platforms including Workfront, Adobe Experience Manager, Frame.io, Capture One, and Photoshop.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment driving efficiencies for multiple workflows and enjoys supporting a wide variety of users and roles including hands-on support. They must be detail oriented, have good verbal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, are able to work independently and able to maintain professionalism under pressure. You should have deep knowledge of Scripting, Hardware and Operating Systems, Software Management, Networking, Systems Design, Application Design, and Automations. You will own troubleshooting and escalating issues with deployed systems to IT/Deskside Services or Global Operations and operate with autonomy by managing custom script daily maintenance, troubleshooting issues and driving innovations with teams. You will build and maintain solutions to bridge internal applications with 3rd Party tools (Workfront, Adobe Experience Manager - Assets, Frame.io, Launch Metrics) and support system health within AWS-S3, Permissions, Network, Servers, and maintain best practices for users via Wiki or Runbooks.
A day in the life
You start your day by reviewing technical support needs through established service channels for Creative users with clear communication and thorough documentation of incident resolution. Throughout the day you proactively manage studio systems ensuring seamless execution of high-volume photo workflows through user access, network connectivity, file management and automations script troubleshooting. You identify opportunities for process optimization and system resilience through predictive analysis and innovative problem solving approaches. You participate in project work to design and implement new automations, complete OE (operational excellence) or mandates to ensure we meet Amazon or Shopbop technology expectations.
About the team
A team of two Systems Engineers who own the automation for Shopbop’s Photo Studio and Marketing. Studio, Catalog and Marketing members use this teams’ custom scripts and applications to perform their day-to-day activities at both the Madison and New York locations. You also partner closely with local IT and Software Development teams.
Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years’ experience in high-capacity workflow or systems automation environment.
• Experience in development languages such as AppleScript, JavaScript, React, Adobe ExtendScript, Java, HTML, TypeScript, and JSON.
• Experience in AWS S3, Lambda, Dynamo-DB, API Gateway, Meridian, 2FA/Midway Auth, Brazil, or Crux.
• Experience with asset management best practices.
• Experience with system architectures and networking.
• Ability to thrive in an environment where priorities shift quickly.
• Bachelors Degree
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Capture One, Photoshop, Premiere, Adobe Workfront, Adobe Experience Manager (Assets), Frame.io or similar applications.
• Experience simplifying and reinventing systems, processes, and tools to make our internal customers more productive.
• Experience building custom solutions integrating internal AWS or proprietary systems with 3rd Party systems.
• Ability to perform deep-dive technical troubleshooting.
