What You'll Be Doing
Get ready for a role that's packed with purpose and engagement. You'll be:
+ Delivering exceptional customer service to every prospective and current graduate student, whether it's through a friendly email, a supportive phone call, a welcoming in-person chat, or a helpful Zoom session.
+ Leading the charge in guiding prospective students through every step of the application process, ensuring they breeze through documentation, deadlines, and admission requirements.
+ Becoming the ultimate resource for graduate students, keeping them in the loop on crucial academic dates and deadlines, and making course registration stress-free.
+ Mastering daily operations, from managing bustling inboxes and phone lines to effortlessly supporting the entire student lifecycle – think MaineStreet navigation, Brightspace onboarding, and crafting personalized academic plans.
+ Igniting motivation in non-active students, reaching out to inspire them to complete their programs, and celebrating every step towards their success.
+ Driving the recruitment and retention goals of the Graduate Studies Office, impacting students at every level, from non-matriculated to certificate and master's candidates.
+ Becoming a university policy wizard, guiding students through everything from the Registrar's Office to Student Accounts and billing.
+ Championing Brightspace, facilitating engaging orientation modules, and providing hands-on assistance to new students.
+ Collaborating with both new and continuing students to map out their academic progress and celebrate their achievements.
+ Keeping meticulous minutes for the Graduate Council and lending your expertise to the University Commencement Committee.

The hiring range for this position is $36,000 - $41,500, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

+ The position may require extended hours during the morning and evening.
+ Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
+ Demonstrated delivery of excellent customer service.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College/University
+ Valid Driver’s license (based on UMS standards)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s Degree
+ One (1) to three (3) years experience in graduate student recruitment and/or retention or a closely related professional field
+ Experience with a CRM platform (i.e., Salesforce)
+ Knowledge of and ability to work with various software/platforms (i.e., WordPress)
+ Experience in working with or in Maine public school systems
