    Job Description

    We are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a **UI/UX 508 Developer** . As part of our application development team your primary role will be to build and design customer friendly user interfaces with Section 508 compliance being the primary focus. You will implement strategies, evaluate products and build upon an infrastructure that supports the changing needs of our customers. You will collaborate with GDIT technical leadership, Government customers, and other key stakeholders to assess our existing and new systems infrastructure. You will work closely with our Security assessment team to make sure all architectural design meets agency policy and guidelines. You will then determine how best to update, upgrade, and reorganize our technology to create a lean, efficient Systems/Solutions Architecture capable of supporting our various projects and goals. You will maintain production application system architecture documentation throughout the life cycle of the application.

    How You’ll Make an Impact:

    + Resolve complex software compatibility and interface design considerations

    + Research, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems or applications software

    + Research and integrate design strategies; product specifications; development schedules; and user expectations into product capabilities

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Support application user interface accessibility requirements by understanding and applying best practice and industry standard approached for meeting Section 508 and WCAG accessibility guidelines to application designs and development

    + UI/UX user centered and accessibility centered design with the ability to translate design into code effectively

    Requirements and Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field; master's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred

    + Comprehensive knowledge of corporate Systems/Solutions Architecture processes and trends

    + Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

    + Experience with software development cycles

    Required Technical Skills:

    + Developing web services working with API, XML, JSON

    + Development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, NodeJS, ReactJS, Azure Functions

    + Front end development skills using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS

    Experience

    + 5-10 years of relevant experience* may vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree

    + 3 years UI/UX development or design experience

    + Experience in full software development life cycle

    + Experience with cloud-native architecture and development in AWS, GCP, or Azure

    + Experience developing SQL and stored procedures with SQL Server (or other relational databases)

    + Experience working in Agile environments

    + Experience using MS Visio for updating diagrams

    + Experience working in Federal or State government environments

    + Ability to work independently and remotely

    Little to no travel anticipated (may be required upon customer request).

    The likely salary range for this position is $113,050 - $152,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
