Description
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong expertise in payroll processes, multi-state tax handling, and exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with various payroll software systems and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely distribution through direct deposit or pay cards.
• Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of payroll, benefits, and tax procedures to maintain compliance and accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records and information in alignment with statutory requirements and company policies.
• Approve and oversee payroll procedures to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed to address payroll-related inquiries and issues.
• Manage payroll for large-scale operations, including over 500 employees.
• Handle both union and non-union payroll complexities when applicable.
• Adapt quickly to new payroll systems and technologies to streamline processes.
• Perform account reconciliations related to payroll and benefits to ensure accuracy.
• Take on additional duties as required to support the payroll function effectively.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, including multi-state tax handling.
• Proficiency with payroll systems such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, Paychex, and ADP.
• Experience managing payroll for more than 500 employees is highly desired.
• Familiarity with union and non-union payroll processes is preferred.
• Strong understanding of account reconciliation and related accounting functions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with active listening abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies with ease.
• Detail-oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy.
