We are looking for a Plant Operations Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team based in Lubbock, TX.

As a BASF Plant Operations Manager, you will work directly with the Site Manager and your direct reports, the Shift Supervisors, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the treating, packaging, delinting, and debagging plants, as well as the shipping and receiving warehouse at the Erskine Site in Lubbock, Texas. Key emphasis will be placed on achieving daily, weekly, and yearly production goals set by cotton seed supply while producing a high-quality product in a safe work environment. + Overseeing day-to-day operations in the treating, debagging, packaging, and de-linting plants.
+ Assisting the site with all audits and reporting, including audit preparation, presence during audits, creating action plans for audit items, data reporting, and follow-up to close out audit action items and ensure program sustainability.
+ Supporting local EHS staff in all EHS and safety-related functions (ERP, Toolbox topics, audits, and safety inspections).
+ Creating and maintaining a positive EHS culture within the site by engaging in all aspects of site and company requirements.
+ Leading team meetings for shift changes, cleaning, maintenance, and regulatory topics.
+ Actively involving in the hands-on training of contractors, including evaluations for competence.Acting as the SSR (site security representative) to ensure local, company, and regulatory standards are met and sustained through robust established programs.
+ Supporting the management of all Capex and Opex projects at the site, including vendor meetings, reviewing plant drawings for accuracy, ensuring safety during project execution, bid walk-downs, vendor selection, localized GRIC communication as applicable, and making recommendations on project design.
+ Working with employees to develop programs that improve work skills and taking disciplinary action as needed.
+ Actively involved in Employee Dialogue and goal setting with direct reports, setting schedules, and aligning with progression programs.
If you...
+ Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Seed Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, or a related discipline.
+ Bring at least 7 years of experience in manufacturing, seed production, ginning, seed conditioning, or relevant farm/mechanical work.
+ Possess knowledge of OSHA’s PSM regulatory requirements, and proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Demonstrate understanding and adherence to Safety (Responsible Care preferred), Security, Stewardship, and Quality Management systems.
+ Exhibit strong organizational, leadership, and managerial capabilities.
+ Showcase effective leadership of direct reports.
+ Hold Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence certification (preferred).
+ Maintain the ability to control costs and support site budget plans.
+ Apply critical and logical thinking to anticipate and plan for future plant needs.
