Job Title: Quality Control SpecialistJob Description
As a Quality Control Specialist, you will assist the interim Quality Manager at the HDG plant in all aspects of the Quality Management System. This role involves aligning with Global Quality Processes and maintaining an auditable Quality System according to ISO-9001 and GFSI certifications (Food Safety), along with other industry certifications. You will ensure the quality of services and products by utilizing risk assessment principles to improve processes, and manage the Quality Control lab to assure timely fulfillment of process control and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Improve the local Quality Management System, aligning with Global Quality Processes, and maintain an auditable Quality System according to ISO-9001 and GFSI certifications.
+ Track goals and key performance indicators, report Quality Metrics, and monitor measured improvement. Conduct annual Management Reviews.
+ Assist in preparation and conduct site audits, including customer audits, certification audits, Technical Visits, and Regulatory Inspections.
+ Develop, maintain, and conduct internal audits. Manage timely responses and follow up on corrective actions for findings to maintain compliance.
+ Assist with Supplier Qualification and monitor supplier performance/audit program, addressing non-conformances related to raw materials.
+ Manage the Quality Control Lab and coordinate day-to-day laboratory activities, ensuring proper test methods are used.
+ Monitor production process and product quality, serving as final release authority for atypical events or results.
+ Review SPC data as part of daily operations support and when investigating product quality issues.
Essential Skills
+ Food Safety expertise
+ Understanding of HACCP principles
+ Experience with PCQI
+ Knowledge of quality assurance and control
+ Familiarity with ISO-9001 and GFSI certifications
+ Experience in OOS investigations
+ Ability to manage Quality Management Systems
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ University degree in a science-related field or high school/Associate degree with more than 3 years of laboratory experience
+ Basic experience working in a chemistry laboratory
Work Environment
You will be working in an old plant with old equipment, specifically at a Silica Plant. The company offers opportunities to work autonomously and has a sustainability initiative.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
