Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description
The Medical Assistant position entails working within the Women's Cancer Center, providing support to an average of 30 patients per day. The role involves rooming patients, verifying insurance, scheduling follow-up appointments, and assisting physicians in preparing for procedures or appointments. While knowledge in the OBGYN field is advantageous, it is not a requirement. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with patients and accurately record health information using the hospital's electronic health system, EPIC.
Responsibilities
+ Room patients and ensure examination rooms are well stocked for physician use.
+ Verify insurance information and schedule follow-up appointments.
+ Assist physicians in preparing for procedures or appointments.
+ Communicate clearly with patients and their families.
+ Record health information within the hospital's electronic health system, EPIC.
Essential Skills
+ Medical assisting
+ Patient care
+ Proficiency with EPIC
+ Knowledge of medical terminology
+ Appointment scheduling
+ BLS certification
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Medical Assistant certification/diploma
+ 1 year of experience in a related field
+ Knowledge of Women's Health (a plus)
Work Environment
The Medical Assistant will work from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with occasional shifts from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. The position involves collaborating with a team of five Medical Assistants, each managing 30 patients per day. This specialized clinic offers a dynamic work environment that enhances the employee's resume and work history. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
