Responsibilities

The Surgical Tech assists physicians and nurses during surgical procedures and in preparation for surgery in order to deliver safe, competent care to our patients. Responsible for maintaining the sterile field, being constantly vigilant that the scrubbed members of the team adhere to aseptic/sterile technique. Assembles and processes sterile instrument trays and equipment. Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the Surgeon. Provides procedural circulating support. Performs instrument, sponge, and equipment counts. Identifies and responds to advanced clinical issues as well as serves as a resource to other staff.

Qualifications

Minimum:

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist

+ American Heart Association BLS

Preferred

+ Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program and certified as a surgical technologist plus two years clinical experience

$30.55 - $44.30 /hour
