Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
Join a dynamic manufacturing team in the plastic products industry, specializing in blown film production. Our facility in Hudson, WI, produces plastic wraps used in various sectors such as agriculture, medical, and manufacturing. As a general production worker, you will help operate one of the three blown film lines, engaging in a labor-intensive and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and load large plastic rolls, transforming them into smaller sizes.
+ Utilize shaft hoists for core loading, taping, and tagging.
+ Handle rolls and perform packaging/palletizing tasks.
+ Replace trims and switch barrels containing products.
+ Conduct quality control to identify defective products.
+ Load and maintain scrap conveyor systems.
+ Label, box, and load 50-pound plastic rolls.
+ Change cutting knives on machines.
+ Package rolls according to customer specifications and production standards.
+ Collaborate with other packers to keep production lines running smoothly.
+ Ensure correct counts and supplies per job specifications.
+ Report production defects to supervisors.
+ Assist in changeovers and setting up production lines.
+ Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
+ Adhere to OSHA requirements and standards.
Essential Skills
+ General labor experience.
+ Machine operation skills.
+ Experience with packaging and machine operating.
+ Knowledge of blown film and plastic extrusion.
+ Ability to use hand tools and operate machinery.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Experience in plastic injection is a plus.
+ Forklift operation skills.
+ Inspection and load management abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including every other weekend.
+ Essential reading and writing skills.
+ Preferred one year of experience in an industrial environment.
+ Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is a plus.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Capacity to stand for 8-12 hours during shifts.

Work Environment
Our production facility requires adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to multitask. With recent expansions including a new machine, we are growing rapidly. The workspace is clean and well-maintained, though it can become warm during summers due to the non-climate-controlled environment necessary for resin melting. Overall, it is a supportive and updated workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
