    Job Title: Stores Attendant-B

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Stores Attendant-B to join our team in Amherst, VA. This role is vital in maintaining our inventory management system and ensuring the efficient operation of our storerooms and storage yards. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory control and a willingness to learn and adapt to new programs.

    Responsibilities

    + Issue material under proper authorization process and file required records, which may include picking up, hauling, and delivering materials.

    + Check received material for quantity, make visual inspections for identity, breakage, and condition, and process material receipt and related records.

    + Report irregularities and abnormal conditions.

    + Identify, sort, and record material returned, place usable material in stock, and sort non-usable material into scrap containers.

    + Operate computer terminals and printers supporting a materials management system and other office equipment.

    + Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including preparation of required shipping papers.

    + Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, forklift trucks, hoists, and overhead cranes.

    + Assist supervisor with maintaining efficient storage of materials and making material location changes.

    + Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels and perform inventory cycle counts.

    + Perform duties in accordance with company safety rules and operating regulations.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of one year of experience in inventory control, material handling, or warehousing.

    + Basic computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.

    + Ability to safely lift up to 70 pounds and successful completion of the Physical Ability Test (PAT).

    + Possession of a valid state driver's license; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required within six months of employment.

    + Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and road vehicles.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    + Heavy equipment operation experience is preferred.

    + Construction experience is beneficial.

    + Motivated, dependable, team-oriented, respectful, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, and punctual.

    Work Environment

     

    The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm, with flexibility as needed. The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to various weather conditions. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans, long pants, and a t-shirt, with all other PPE provided. Some local travel may be required, and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) will be necessary for this position.

    This is a Contract position based out of Amherst, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
