    Department Summary:

    The NY Middle Office team is responsible for post execution trade support for TDS trading businesses within Global Markets to ensure trades are reflected in the front office trading systems on an accurate and timely basis. NYMO supports both trading and sales functions in Toronto, NY and London with specific accountabilities pertaining to trade capture, inventory position management, and business reporting / trade capture and client analytics. NYMO interacts with Trading, Sales, Operations, Technology, Compliance and institutional customers to effectively deliver its mandate. We also support the ongoing development and design and adherence of the target operating model for front office processes that are required for effective trade execution, trade capture and position and risk management.

     

    This Analyst role will directly support our US Rates/GSTM desk within New York.

    Position Summary:

    + Individual is responsible for the daily execution of the following activities by the MO team

     

    - Trade Lifecycle Events: Booking/Amending trades, Assisting with Settlement/Reconciliation issues as well as Booking errors

     

    - Handle Balance rollovers and Funding requests

     

    - Working with Sales/Trading, Surveillance, Compliance, Technology and Operations on various issues that come up

    - Creating new process enhancements

    + Individual will actively manage various initiatives and ad hoc requests that impact the Sales/Trading desk and MO. This applies to initiatives governed by head office as well as initiatives Globally. Initiatives will vary from infrastructure improvements, changes in regulatory requirements to supporting local business initiatives. The individual is expected to utilize their relationships to help drive these initiatives to completion.

    + Individual is expected to evaluate any changes in regulatory requirements and changes in the business model for impact to existing MO activities and pro-actively make changes to adapt to maintain effective business support. Where appropriate, the individual will engage cross-functional stakeholders in order to deliver the most cost effective, value-added solutions.

    + Individual is expected to maintain a good understanding of financial markets

    Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of the operating environment, business processes and transaction lifecycle

    + BBG experience preferred

    + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg

    + Be highly organized and detail oriented

    + Able to handle multiple priorities and a trading floor environment

    + Bachelors degree with at least 1 – 3 years' experience

    + Series 7 is a plus

     

    The Operations Analyst/Specialist I TDS provides back up for the Canadian Fixed Income Desk. This individual will handle corporate actions, daily cash reconciliation, tracking file uploads into FIST, and be a DTC clearance specialist. Responsibilities include the clearance of London trading activity passing through US broker/dealers. Activities include advising agent of ticket control numbers for confirmations and by performing required system maintenance. In addition, the position will maintain compliance files and verify new clients are set up on FIST, acknowledging that settlement and other client instructions are complete.

    Depth & Scope:

    + Acts as a specialist owner or representative in the discipline

    + Leads / participates in the identification, development and implementation of new products, operating workflow, additional services/applications or operational efficiencies for Global Business Services

    + Identifies documents, investigates, and resolves service delivery issues

    + Manages relationships with the client, and other areas of TDS / GBS

    + Acts as a project manager for small-scale projects/initiatives

    + Initiates or participates in projects follows project management methodologies, communicates project status and provides timely escalation of issues to senior management to ensure project objectives are met

    + Interfaces with regulators, external groups (legal firms, accountants etc.), suppliers on operating and service delivery issues relative to the specific area of functional expertise as authorized by the manager

    + Escalates non-standard or high risk transactions or other activities as appropriate

    + Acquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provides guidance, assistance and direction to others in TD Securities

    + Identifies recommend and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline

    + Analyzes service delivery issues and identifies potential solutions that enhance the customer experience and support TD Securities business objectives

    + Protects the interests of the firm identifies and manages risks

    + Completes business process reviews as required

    Education & Experience:

    + Bachelor's degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience

    + 3-4 years related experience
