The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

As a **Lead Consultant** on the Leadership Development team, you will apply your end-to-end learning and development expertise, spanning needs analysis, design, development, and facilitation, to build high-impact learning experiences for leaders across the enterprise. In this role, you will operate as a strategic consultant and trusted partner, collaborating closely with HR and business stakeholders to translate organizational priorities into actionable and measurable learning solutions.
You will lead complex, enterprise-wide learning initiatives, applying sound instructional design principles and innovative approaches to address evolving leadership needs. This includes selecting appropriate learning methodologies, technologies, and delivery strategies while managing cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle. You will focus on helping leaders build the mindsets, skills, and behaviors required to thrive in key moments of their leadership journey.
Your work will ensure the organization is prepared, capable, and agile—ready to lead through change and drive business outcomes today and in the future.
In this role, you will develop strong working relationships with leaders that encourage candor about leadership and business challenges. You will develop coaching and mentoring relationships with consultants across leader development to enhance their capabilities. You will develop effective partnerships with key vendors.
Core responsibilities include:
Design and deliver leader development products and programs in support of delivering a best-in-class curriculum for Target:
+ **Conduct enterprise needs assessments** by consulting with stakeholders, analyzing data, and reviewing existing curriculum to identify learning and performance gaps, with a focus on early to mid-level leaders.
+ **Design, develop, and facilitate** impactful leadership development experiences—both in-person and virtual—ensuring alignment to enterprise priorities, audience needs, and learning science best practices.
+ **Lead cross functional collaboration** , contributing subject matter expertise and co-creating content with other learning and development practitioners and HR partners, to deliver scalable leadership development solutions.
+ Translate theory into practice by integrating adult learning principles, behavior change models, and leadership research into practical, business-relevant development strategies.
+ Apply strategic thinking and systems design to connect learning solutions with broader talent strategies, leveraging tools such as assessments, leadership models, and performance data to inform solutions.
+ Evaluate impact and effectiveness of leadership development programs through data analysis and stakeholder feedback, continuously improving experiences to meet evolving enterprise and learner needs.

About you:
+ Four-year degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or related field
+ 6+ years of work experience in an HR area (learning and development, organization development, group facilitation, training and training design, etc.)
+ Strong consulting background
+ Ability to apply strategic thinking and systems design to connect learning solutions with broader talent strategies, leveraging tools such as assessments, leadership models, and performance data to inform solutions
+ Effectively lead large complex cross-functional efforts and programs (includes robust project management, root cause analysis, and strategy development)
+ Experience in leadership curriculum development and program management
+ Project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and doing whatever it takes to deliver outstanding results
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate and present in both large and small group settings (in-person and virtually)
+ Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, influencing without formal authority
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
