The Sr Payroll Tax Analyst will be responsible for Payroll tax reporting, employees’ tax setup, payroll tax compliance with governmental laws (registration/filing/payment of state withholding tax, unemployment etc.,), analysis, auditing and year end activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting of W-2, and tax filings. Successful candidate will support process improvement initiatives within payroll and assist with the general ledger coding into NetSuite.
The Sr Payroll Tax Analyst will act as the subject matter tax expert and work directly with employees, various managers across the company and answer to the employees’ enquiries related to payroll taxes.
Responsibilities
+ Balance and validate bi-weekly payroll taxes for payroll tax reconciliation
+ Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes
+ Ensure accuracy of payroll tax set up for new hires and correct tax records as necessary
+ Ensure proper registrations of state withholding taxes/state unemployment insurance /county and other local taxes for new locations and FEINs
+ Work with payroll service provider to ensure proper tax setup, payments and reconcile with tax filings, and accurate tax amendments
+ Make corrections to state/federal tax profiles set up with tax services
+ Answer employee questions concerning payroll taxes
+ Keep track and respond to agency letters
+ Attend Chapter Meetings, Year-End Webinars, and ADP sponsored conferences to continue education and remain current on all applicable federal and state tax legislation.
+ Support bi-weekly payroll and complete payroll reconciliation as needed
+ Participate in all payroll-related audits
+ Continually review, execute and recommend process improvements to enhance, promote effectiveness, efficiency, and precision
+ Perform other payroll operations duties, as assigned

Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant field
+ Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role
+ Strong expertise in local and governmental rules about payroll taxes and payroll compliance
+ Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially advanced level Excel skills
+ Great computational ability and ability to analyze large data sets
+ Attention to detail
+ Ability to adapt and work as a team player in a fast- growing environment
+ Support process improvement initiatives
+ Responds to internal/annual audit requirements
+ Highly organized and able to manage time effectively
Preferred
+ Knowledge of health care industry, especially kidney care industry
+ Payroll tax compliance experience in a publicly traded company
+ A valid national payroll certification (e.g. Fundamental Payroll Certification)
