Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$59,200.00 - $97,700.00

What Is the Opportunity?
Under moderate supervision, the Analyst, Ceded Reinsurance Claims, is an entry to intermediate analyst position responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing less complex losses on assigned contracts. The Analyst will also participate in less complex projects and provides functional support as assigned. This job does not manage others.
What Will You Do?
+ Identify, review and confirm reinsurance coverage for losses.
+ Calculate and record proper financial results (reserves/billings).
+ Analyze and record all losses within company guidelines and issue timely notices, updates and billings for losses covered under our reinsurance contracts.
+ Collect reinsurance receivable; present solutions to review with supervisor / management to resolve reinsurer disputes. Has experience and skill-set to independently address less complex reinsurer questions. This includes independently consulting with our brokers, business units, reinsurers, and internal experts to resolve specific questions regarding billing and reserves.
+ Participate on various Ceded Reinsurance/Company projects and initiatives (ex: commutations, insolvency, audit, etc.).
+ Anticipate and resolve problems and/or make recommendations on possible solutions, and refer critical issues to the appropriate level of management.
+ Ensure that internal/external clients receive excellent service.
+ Develop positive relationships with business unit, brokers, and reinsurer contacts to meet business unit needs and develop long-term relationships.
+ Assist management in the development of report standards, formats and procedures, to create operational and workflow efficiencies.
+ Occasionally attend reinsurer and broker meetings to discuss assigned claims/issues.
+ May be responsible for reinsurer audit coordination.
+ Other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
+ General knowledge of insurance business or reinsurance preferred.
+ General understanding of introductory level insurance/reinsurance concepts preferred.
+ Intent to begin coursework toward professional designation (ARe, CPCU) within 18 months of hire preferred.
What is a Must Have?
+ Bachelor's degree required; In lieu of degree, a minimum of 6 months related experience is required.
+ Intermediate verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
+ Intermediate presentation skills required.
+ General knowledge Word & Excel Skills required.
+ Intermediate analytical, problem resolution, decision making and organizational skills required.
+ Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to changing priorities required.
+ Flexibility (demonstrated ability to adjust to new situations and changing priorities) required.
+ Demonstrated ability to think through and resolve simple/routine problems and/or offer recommendations on solutions to manager.
+ Technical Skills:Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment required.
+ Excellent time management skills required.
