Job Description:
We are searching for the best talent for a **Vice President, Advanced Energy** located in Cincinnati, OH. This pivotal role will oversee a +$1B portfolio within the MedTech Surgery business, focusing on innovative advanced energy technologies that improve patient outcomes by addressing critical needs in hemostasis, surgical efficiency, operating room workflow and service & repair of energy capital.
Our portfolio includes industry-leading product families such as HARMONIC® ultrasonic shears and GEN11 energy generator, and a comprehensive energy portfolio with ENSEAL® advanced bipolar and MEGADYNETM product families, designed to improve clinical and economic outcomes across diverse surgical specialties and clinical approaches including open, laparoscopic and robotic procedures. Additional responsibilities will include:
+ **Strategic Vision & Growth:** Define and deliver a profitable and sustainable growth strategy for the Advanced Energy portfolio leveraging both internal and external partnerships to identify and address unmet clinical and economic needs.
+ **Innovation & Investment:** Build compelling business cases for new product innovations and secure investments to drive growth in advanced instruments across surgical approaches. Align strategic vision with global insights and fast evolving market dynamics.
+ **Pipeline & Portfolio Management:** Lead pipeline prioritization and ensure cross-functional alignment to achieve both short-term and long-term platform goals. Activate external technology partnerships, oversee project milestones, cost improvements, and new product launches.
+ **Global Market Strategy:** Develop and execute a globally coordinated go-to-market strategy, collaborating with regional and country-level commercial leaders to ensure successful market access, product launches, market penetration and competitiveness.
+ **Commercial Leadership:** Provide decisive leadership for the integration and management of acquired technologies and external partnerships. Successfully lead commercial negotiations and partnerships within the portfolio.
+ **Marketing & Customer Insight:** Lead global marketing strategies, including customer insight, market segmentation, product positioning, and competitive analysis. Drive engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and stakeholders.
+ **Customer Experience and Service:** Strengthen and lead global service and repair capabilities, activate new service models and improve customer satisfaction with energy capital. Provide design for manufacturing and product lifecycle inputs into capital strategy.
+ **Leadership & Culture:** Create and lead a high-performing, inclusive team. Foster a culture of innovation and develop a diverse pipeline of future leaders for J&J MedTech.
Qualifications
+ Minimum of 12 years of business experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role with people management responsibilities.
+ Proven experience leading large teams, managing change, and developing talent.
+ Experience in launching new products, with a solid understanding of market research, including voice of the customer (VOC) for a global audience.
+ Experience in Business Development deals including acquisitions, divestitures, licensing and other partnerships deals.
+ Strong track record of innovative problem-solving, identifying customer insights, and translating them into market solutions.
+ Experience managing a diverse product portfolio across various market conditions and regulatory pathways. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies in a global, matrixed environment.
+ Previous P&L leadership, franchise leadership, or GM role experience. Expertise in commercial negotiations and managing complex external partnerships.
+ Background in marketing programs that create new markets or segments.
+ Cross-functional experience in areas such as Sales, Finance, or R&D.
+ Strong preference for candidates with medical device or healthcare industry experience.
+ Willingness to travel up to 40%, both nationally and internationally is required.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
