    Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIVISION (CISD) of MCLB ALBANY GA. Responsibilities You will recommend cybersecurity controls to be implemented; review the control definitions and determine technical means to implement them through technical design or integration with adjacent IT architectures. You will perform event management, review IT system log files and research connections and system activity for potential anomalies and intrusions. You will develop cybersecurity remediation plan; determine appropriate methodology for scanning and remediating operating systems, applications and networks. You will participate in system procurement activities and ensure cybersecurity considerations are incorporated into system modifications. You will oversee the access control to the MCLB Albany Classified vault and protected distribution system. You will ensure the proper marking, storage, transportation, and transmission of classified material in accordance with Navy and Marine Corps policy. You will determine appropriate technical solutions to resolve anomalies and further harden the cybersecurity of the system. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Reviewing cybersecurity documentation and system configurations to ensure full compliance with DoD standards. Detecting and investigating anomalies in logs and vulnerability scans to uncover security risks. Maintaining detailed records of system changes, incidents, and classified material handling. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Collaborating with program managers and security personnel to meet cybersecurity requirements and provide expert guidance. Responding swiftly and professionally to incidents and stakeholder needs to maintain mission readiness. Educating users on cybersecurity best practices to promote secure operational environments. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presenting complex cybersecurity concepts clearly to diverse audiences. Leading configuration control boards and briefings to drive informed decision-making. Communicating security risks and compliance updates effectively to leadership and teams. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyze threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps to develop targeted mitigation strategies. Anticipating and implement preventive measures during system design to reduce risks. Investigating and remediating cybersecurity incidents using systematic approaches and tools. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Applying cybersecurity engineering principles throughout the lifecycle of complex information systems, including system design, integration, risk assessment, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements: performing system assessments and authorizations (A&A), conducting vulnerability and incident management, and leading continuous monitoring efforts to ensure system integrity and availability. NOTE: This position has been designated as a Cyberspace Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work role as identified above and, as a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023, and supporting Department of Navy policies. This designation requires the incumbent to: 1. Obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF work role(s) and proficiency level(s) as documented on this coding sheet. For more information, please review DoDM 8140.03 and supporting DON policies. 2. Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. Continuous professional development begins in the fiscal year after the employee has obtained both foundational and residential qualification requirements. Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and/or adverse action up to removal from federal service. Education In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows: I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR I have successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks OR I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major/ OR I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
