A Day in the Life
As Vice President, Creative (Packaging) for Maybelline New York, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Marketing, you will lead a team responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative, cutting-edge packaging designs that maintain brand consistency and resonate with consumers across social and e-commerce channels. You will ensure Maybelline's packaging stands out in a crowded merchandising universe, maximizing space efficiency and creating a 360° brand experience. Your work will directly impact how Maybelline is showcased to consumers, from initial product discovery to purchase. You will collaborate closely with the development team, packaging innovation team, merchandising team, and external agencies. Sustainability will be a key consideration in all design decisions.
+ Strategic Vision & Leadership: Define and execute the overall packaging design strategy for Maybelline New York, ensuring alignment with brand vision and global marketing objectives.
+ Team Management & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of designers, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery of projects.
+ Innovation & Trendsetting: Identify and incorporate innovative packaging concepts, designs, and emerging creative technologies to maintain Maybelline's position at the forefront of the beauty industry.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with category teams, merchandising, social and e-comm teams, and external agencies to ensure seamless integration of packaging designs across all touchpoints.
+ Budget Management & Resource Allocation: Manage the creative budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation to maximize impact and ROI.
+ Sustainability Integration: Champion sustainable packaging practices throughout the design process, incorporating eco-friendly materials and minimizing environmental impact.
We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate possesses a collaborative mindset, a passion for sustainability, and a deep understanding of the beauty industry. They are a proven leader with a strong track record of success in developing innovative packaging designs that drive sales and enhance brand image.
+ Extensive Experience: 10+ years of experience in packaging design, preferably within the consumer packaged goods or beauty industry.
+ Creative Vision: Exceptional creative vision and ability to translate brand strategy into compelling packaging designs.
+ Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of artwork processes, graphic design, legal requirements for packaging and product artwork, packaging and print technologies, and innovative packaging concepts.
+ Collaborative Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative environment and driving innovation.
+ Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to analyze quantitative data and make data-driven decisions.

+ Salary Range: $172,000– $250,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.)
