• AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you’ll contribute:
Professional nurse who provides leadership in the development of staff education at the unit level in compliance with regulatory agencies in conjunction with the hospital mission, management and physician expectation. The educator combines clinical expertise and passion for teaching in both the classroom and practice setting, preparing and mentoring current and future generations of nurses. The Nurse educator plays a pivotal role in strengthening the nursing workforce, serving as a role model and providing the leadership needed to implement evidence-based practice.

• **Plans, prepares, and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience** **.**
• **Adheres to attendance standards when teaching/facilitating a class ensuring set up is completed prior to class start** **.**
• **Assists with students and practicing nurses to identify their learning needs, strengths and opportunities and develop learning activities to grow skill set based on learning needs** **.**
• **Coordinates orientation of new staff including agency into the organization** **.**
• **Develops/coordinates education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation** **.**
• **Develops/coordinates core education to address patient population specific nursing care** **.**
• **Develops/coordinates content for learning opportunities based on evidenced based practice** **.**
• **Develops/coordinates core education for the development of bedside leaders** **.**
• **Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programming.**
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:
• Bachelor's in Nursing with 3 years of in-patient nursing experience.
• Master's in Nursing with 3 years of in-patient nursing experience.
• Bachelor's in Nursing with 5 years of in-patient nursing experience.
• Master's in Nursing Education or Leadership with 5 years in patient nursing experience.
• Master's Science in Nursing Education or Nursing Leadership with 5 years inpatient nursing experience.
• 1 education experience (hospital or academic).
• 2 education experience (hospital or academic setting).
• 1 education experience (hospital or academic setting).
• 5 education experience PLUS certification in NPD.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current in American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation based on unit coverage.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire.
• Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement Upon Hire Required.
