Position Summary...

As Driver Communications Operations Manager, you will be the executional lead behind our communication engine—responsible for ensuring Spark drivers receive the right message, at the right time, through the right channel. You’ll manage and optimize a high-volume, multi-channel comms calendar (SMS, in-app, and email), support both scheduled and urgent communications, and serve as the governance lead across our communication platforms. This role blends creative copywriting chops with operational discipline and risk-aware decision making.

What you'll do...

Our drivers power Spark’s success—and clear, timely communication is essential to their trust, safety, and performance. This role is the connective tissue between strategy and execution, ensuring that every message sent strengthens our driver relationships while protecting the business from risk.

What You’ll Do:

**Channel Operations & Governance:** Own execution across SMS, in-app notifications, and email channels. Manage access and governance for Spark’s communication tools and ensure structured use by stakeholders.

**Calendar Management:** Build and maintain a master communications calendar aligned to product launches, incentive windows, policy changes, and incident response.

**Comms Execution:** Write and deploy compelling communications in alignment with tone, brand, and business priorities. Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure messages meet regulatory standards.

**Trigger-Based Messaging:** Collaborate with product, performance, engagement, and mission control teams to craft automated and behaviorally driven communications.

**Measurement & Optimization:** Track performance (open/read rates, engagement) and consult on strategies to improve effectiveness through A/B testing, timing, and content refinement.

**Risk & Compliance Management:** Ensure high-risk communications (e.g., terms changes, safety mandates) are delivered, received, and documented per policy. Lead comms-related incident response when issues arise.

**Cross-functional Collaboration:** Act as the operational bridge between technical execution and strategy—ensuring alignment with driver experience objectives across go-to-market and platform stability teams.

What You’ll Bring:

+ 4+ years' experience in communications operations, program management, or lifecycle marketing, preferably in platform-based or gig environments

+ Demonstrated strength in copywriting and editing, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable messages

+ Experience managing comms governance and ensuring compliance with legal, privacy, and platform-specific standards

+ Operational rigor in managing campaigns, calendars, and tools across multiple stakeholders and workstreams

+ Proficiency in campaign or messaging platforms (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.)

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00
