    Leidos Digital Modernization is seeking a **Deputy Operations Manager** to provide technical leadership, problem solving, customer service, risk management, and continuous improvement. The Deputy Operations Manager is responsible for supporting Operational Excellence for the 844th communications Group at three locations to include Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB), Joint Base Andrews (JBA) and the Pentagon, including support for the Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) and Headquarters Air Force (HAF) on both NIPRNet and SIPRNet domains.

     

    This position is 100% onsite at Joint Base Andrews, MD and requires an active Secret clearance to start.

     

    As the Deputy Operations Manager, you should have a deep understanding of enterprise IT environments, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively with significant experience managing and maintaining technical solutions. To be successful, you should have excellent communications skills, a strong customer service orientation, and experience serving as an advisor to the Enterprise Operations Manager, as well as other senior IT managers, who will be their peers.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Participate as a member of the Enterprise Operations Team and work with the AFDW team to document, maintain, and achieves target operations solutions.

    + Manage desktop systems imaging to create streamlined and automated solutions.

    + Provide leadership for the maintenance and operations of COTS/GOTS systems.

    + Lead and participate in development and transition-to-operations applications and other solutions packages.

    + Lead and participate in the identification, assessment, and presentation of solutions for meeting the functional and technical requirements of customers.

    + Lead compliance to enterprise operations and change reviews.

    + Responsible for defining and executing a staffing strategy.

    + Provide transparent and regular status updates in requested format.

    + Workload management for direct reports.

    + Annual performance assessments of your team members.

    + Responsible for implementing process improvements and providing suggestions for tools.

    + Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    + Lead the IT Operations team responsible for Imaging, Platform Technologies, and infrastructure services.

    + Develop and implement IT operations strategies that align with business objectives.

    + Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

    + Collaborate with senior leadership to identify technology-driven opportunities for business growth.

    + Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of standardized device imaging solutions across the organization.

    + Ensure efficient management of platform technologies, including endpoint management systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud services.

    + Establish and enforce best practices for imaging and platform technology standards.

    + Monitor and improve performance, reliability, and scalability of critical platforms.

    + Drive process automation and improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

    + Implement ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.

    + Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards.

    + Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to improve service delivery.

    + Build, develop, and manage a high-performing IT operations team.

    + Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.

    + Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and measure outcomes.

    + Promote collaboration between IT teams and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or 8+ years relevant experience in Service Operations.

    + Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

    + Multiple years of leading, managing or supervising teams.

    + Customer service oriented.

    + Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.

    + Experience with a ticketing system such as Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Server experience (2008R2, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory Management.

    + Knowledge managing teams/systems connected to Storage Area Networks.

    + Knowledge with data protection.

    + Knowledge with VMWare environments.

    + Knowledge network, applications, systems monitoring and performance tools.

    + Knowledge with DISA STIGs, Air Force MTOs, TCNOs and/or other Federal government guidance.

    + Knowledge of DoD processes and procedures.

    + Currently possesses one or more of the following: PMP, ITILv4.

    + Project Management experience.

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
